Very sad about the attacks in Paris. There are some extremely evil people in this world.
Praying for Peace all over.
Speaking of crazy people… The whole ‘Red Cup’ debacle had me shaking my head. People up in arms about Starbucks getting rid of ‘Christmas’ and random Christians being offended.
Big deal. The cups are red.
My guess is it was a cost-saving move to go minimalist vs. paying an artist to come up with a new design for this year, not to mention the printing cost . Plus, it’s kind of genius, because their logo is green – so there ya go, typical Christmas colors with red and green, am I right?
I’m a Christian and I wasn’t offended about Starbucks having plain red cups this year instead of the usual artistry cups with snowflakes or snowmen or deer. These were the cups from years past:
None of them included “Merry Christmas” in the design, so the only difference between those years past and this year is the absence of actual artistic drawings. Like I said, big deal.
People can be so petty about not getting what they’re used to. It’s clear those offended had expectations of something Starbucks did creatively in the spirit of the holidays.
But maybe this year, in the spirit of the holidays, they opted to go with a cheaper design so they wouldn’t have to raise the already high coffee prices – you know, in the spirit of the holidays.
But no. Poor babies with their temper tantrums are all about the red cup. Pfffffft.
Well, OK, if I’m being honest, I am bummed they didn’t at least do deer cups since y’all know I love deer. But it didn’t make me crazy enough to rant and rave about it.
Seriously, people need to lighten up. The world really is getting crazier and crazier by the day. You know that saying – you can please some of the people all the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Or something like that.
Speaking of crazy – or actually crazy cool… Last week a Sector North Bend aircrew spotted an unusual image on radar roughly 25 nautical miles offshore. After flying overhead to investigate they were surprised to find a pod of an estimated 300 to 500 Northern Right Whale Dolphins.
These creatures travel in schools of hundreds and can make an average speed of 16 miles per hour. They are capable of some incredible “air time.”
Now for something funny… Normally I don’t decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but if I had a Venus Flytrap, I’d totally make an exception:
I’d probably make little hats for other holidays and events throughout the year just for fun. You in?
Oh, and in case you missed the post for Princess Nagger’s birthday this past Sunday, you can read that here. Because dude – she’s a teenager now!
It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Chat!
This week’s prompt or question is:
“What do you hope to be remembered for?”
I hope that people remember me as a kind, loving, caring person. An animal lover, a friend and someone they could confide in and know that anything they told me went with me when I closed my eyes that last time.
A lover, one who was always faithful, who loved with all my being and gave my all. I would like to be remembered as someone who was ready and willing to help when needed, who was honest to myself and others, who respected those who were respectful. A strong woman who did not judge others and believed in God.
That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.
Link up your Random (or not) here:
Keeping the random alive (barely) – feel free to snag a badge and play along – one for my wino friends:
And one for my non-wino friends:
