The weeks have been going by in a blur – I’m behind on blog hopping, but hopefully this week will enable some catch-up mode. As opposed to Catsup – or Ketchup, however you prefer to spell that.

The hubby’s been having some tooth issues – he had a toothache and we finally figured out which dentist in the area is part of our ‘preferred provider network’ for insurance (picking out new doctors and dentists after a move is not fun – and why must they make it so complicated?!) and went into have the new dentist have a look-see.

He came home from the dentist and said “6, 5, 3…see if you can figure that out.” I was pretty close guessing which was which, although I assumed the ‘3’ was extractions for cracked teeth from years past of him chomping down on those cinnamon jawbreakers he was so fond of.

Instead, it was 6 fillings (yikes!), 5 extractions (though 4 of those are his wisdom teeth that never grew in), and 3 root canals.

Makes my teeth hurt thinking about all that work he needs done.

Luckily the oral surgeon concurred that at his age he really doesn’t need to have his wisdom teeth excavated, it was only listed as a possibility in case they happened to be the culprits on his jaw pain, but thankfully that’s not the problem and he’ll be able to hang onto his wisdom within those four teeth.

However, one of the molars that is slated for a root canal was giving him grief, so he ended up staying home from work because he couldn’t do much talking with an achey tooth, and the dentist was all booked up.

Is it just me, or do guys tend to be bigger babies than kids are when they stay home sick? Luckily he’s getting the one biggest pain contributor taken care of this week, so things are mostly back to a normal schedule (read: he’s able to go to work instead of hanging around interrupting me with puppy dog eyes…heh!)

Speaking of hanging around… We had another gorgeous sunny and warm weekend – the hubby worked out in the yard all weekend (says it keeps his mind off his teeth) and things are looking really pretty around here with the flowers blooming and whatnot. I’ll have to get out and take some pictures to share for sure.

For Mother’s Day, we enjoyed a nice relaxing day, the hubby got breakfast for me and rather than going out to eat for dinner, we ordered some amazing pub burgers ‘to-go’.

He also surprised me with wall mounted planter boxes as one of my gifts that he secured to the side of the shed:

HerbGarden

Pretty cool, no? We’ll be painting them a matching blue to the trim. He even planted nine different herbs in alphabetical order since he knows I like to keep my spices and herbs in alphabetical order.

He also got me a Seahawks license plate frame, and some camping gear I’d mentioned I was still needing to get to replace the gear we gave away when moving from PA to here. He and the kids will finally get to see how awesome it is to camp in the Pacific Northwest instead of just hear me tell stories about how great it is from all the years of camping while growing up here.

Princess Nagger drew me a digital picture that I’ll have to snag to share later, and Little Dude brought home a wicked cool clay flower he made for me at school that is absolutely awesome – and yes, I’ll have to take pictures of that as well (see how far behind I am on everything? Sheesh!)

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Chat!

This week’s prompt or question is:

“It is my (Leslie’s) birthday tomorrow (May 13th), so Surprise me with something!”

Digital drawing from Princess Nagger should be a good surprise, right? Here you go – one of her creative characters coming up out of a galaxy cake thing (PN’s description – don’t ask):

HappyBirthdayRebs

Happy Birthday, Leslie! Hope all your wishes come true today.

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

    1. Princess Nagger will be very happy to know that you love the space cake! 😉 You’re coveting my planter boxes, I’m coveting your room makeover! 😀 I will definitely take pics – and one of these days maybe you’ll get to come hang out in my neck of the woods to enjoy it yourself! 😀 Happy Birthday, Leslie! Hope it’s one of the best ones yet! 🙂

  2. Men ARE big babies when they are sick! My husband was sick last week and he literally took about 5 days to feel 100% and he used it as an excuse to hang around. Do moms get to do that? Hell no!

  3. Awesome job by Princess Nagger on the spacey birthday card.
Hmm, not so great news about the hubby. I can relate somewhat, not to the pain, having all four wisdom tooth and am kind of overdue for new fillings and stuff, but I figured I had enough medical stuff going on for the whole year.
Here’s to some ketchup, ahem, catch up 😀

    1. Thanks, Claudia – I’ll pass your accolades on to Princess Nagger! 🙂 I’d definitely say you’ve had enough medical stuff going on for the whole year – I’d be putting off anything else for as long as possible! 😀

  4. Sick husbands are no fun! Having toothaches aren’t any fun either. Good luck to both of you, but especially you 😉

Happy Mother’s Day to you! Your planters look lovely.

I’m looking forward to seeing pics from your camping adventures. I’ve always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest. I’ll live vicariously through you!

    Happy Random Tuesday.

I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures so you can effectively live vicariously through me…one of these days you’ll have to come out to this coast for a visit so you can live it firsthand! 😉

  5. I thought 653 was the price tag! (but then that might seem reasonable for all of that work…glad the wisdoms can stay!) It’s like I don’t know you anymore what with the no pics of the flower and digital pic! 😉
