Seriously, people, can someone please find the elusive pause button? These weeks are simply flying by way too fast.

I’m late this week, so I’m just going to jump right into the music side of things, m’kay? I’m sure you won’t mind, after all, it is mindless Monday, so we’re going to dispense with the ‘mindless’ part and replace it with music.

It’s a freebie week, so we’re going to just jump in and see what music moves us this week, shall we?

Let’s start off with an artist who topped the charts with his first single, and just might do the same with this second one. He co-wrote this song with the members from another of my favorite groups, Florida Georgia Line.

ColeSwindell

Give a listen to Cole Swindell with “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight”:

Next up is a song and artist for my non-country loving friends, someone you will no doubt be hearing a lot more about because she is quite the talented artist. It’s hard to put this singer in a box as her music is a mix of rock, soul, folk, jazz and country.

She wrote this song with her friend and instead of it being a whole song about some guy she dated and wasn’t nice to, she made a nice little collection – and the song turned out to be a story about the past two years of boyfriends and trying to be a better person and clean up her act.

ElleKing

Here’s Elle King with “Ex’s & Oh’s”:

Next up is a new artist with a new single that brings a new sound to country radio. His voice is richly layered, bringing fans more pure, country-pop sound, and this song is witty, sharp and tons of fun.

What distinguishes this artist from other new artists is his polished, hip-hop inspired cadence. His lyrics are deftly written and when he lays them out they flow like Coca-Cola. His sharp-as-nails delivery makes each word decipherable; fans may marvel at an artist who can pull from so many genres to craft a sound that is fresh and remarkably innovative while staying true to the country themes they know and love.SamHunt

Fun Fact: Sam Hunt may be a newcomer, but he’s already written more than a few hit songs. He co-wrote Kenny Chesney‘s 2012 hit, ’Come Over,’ Billy Currington‘s 2013 song, ‘We Are Tonight,’ and Keith Urban‘s latest single, ‘Cop Car.’

Give a listen to Sam Hunt with “Leave The Night On”:

Last, but definitely not least, this artist’s newest song is one of the reasons I’m posting late – she literally is officially releasing this song this morning (Monday). So you’ll most likely hear it here first! Woot!

The release date of her newest album happens to be on my birthday, December 9th. Happy Birthday to me! You know, in 2-1/2 months.

Edited to add the official YouTube audio version since the first one was pulled (as expected) for copyright infringement).

Here’s Carrie Underwood with her brand spankin’ new song, “Something in The Water”:

That’s a wrap – have a great Monday!

  2. Leave it to you to find all the new tunes… thanks for keeping me up to date. So do you think it’s going to be a hit? I love the tune. It’s really different, but I want to see the video too… sometimes the video to it is the clincher you know what I mean. I bet she’ll take a break after this with her being pregnant and all. The other tunes are new to me also, but you know Carrie is my favorite. What a wonderful voice she has not to mention those gorgeous looks. YOU HAVE ROCKED THE HOUSE MY FRIEND. Thanks for putting the boogie in my day! YOU ROCK!
