You guys are the best Rebels a girl could ask for.  Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and obvious patience with my dilemma of crap internet connection and basement dwelling prohibiting me from being the good hostess I like to be.  You are all too kind.  And you have spoken – no hiatus!

That works for me, because I love reading your comments on my crazy random – and reading your random is a bright beacon in this foggy time of transition whilst we are stuck in the ‘hurry-up-and-wait’ mode.  I don’t do well with HUAW.  Just sayin’.

Princess Nagger had a blast dressing up as Katniss for Halloween:

PNKatniss

She was tickled when one of the houses we stopped at actually recognized her/knew what she was dressed up as – they told her they’d give her three pieces of candy if she promised not to shoot them with a compound bow.  That totally made her night.

She was having second thoughts about the whole wig thing as I was trying to cram all her blonde tresses in it – she contemplated going as a blonde Katniss instead – Kitness, the long lost blonde twin of Katniss”.

She cracks me up.

Speaking of cracking up… I don’t know if you saw my post about the Stride Rite shoes I got to review for the kids – Little Dude got some cool new kicks that fit right in with his Firefighter costume:

Aren’t those cute?  And they were a godsend when Little Dude didn’t come right back down the sidewalk of one house – instead he followed a crowd of people going back the way we had come.  Those shoes have really bright light-up LED’s in them – I saw the lights flashing almost a block away heading away from us.

I was able to  yell loud enough for him to stop and turn around – and I was relieved when I saw those same bright flashing lights come quickly back towards us.  For the rest of the evening those flashing lights were a comforting sight.

Speaking of comforting sight (or in this case, maybe not so much)…  If you follow me on Facebook, you would have seen that I posted about Little Dude’s encounter with a brick wall:

LDBump

Poor guy!  I couldn’t quite get the right angle – he had a nice sized goose egg on his head where you see the bruise – he apparently was running in the playground holding hands with a girl when he crashed into a brick wall.

I’ll let that sink in for a minute.

When I asked him if he was looking at the little girl when he ran into the wall, he said “No, I was looking at the playground.”  Apparently his mind was already fixed on his next ‘move’ – the slide or swings after his hand-holding run with the little girl.

Never a dull moment.

The bump on the head didn’t slow Little Dude down – not one iota.  Kind of like the mouse in this video:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome – random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

I’m also linking up with two stellar ladies, Shawn and Impulsive, the lovely hosts of Talk To Us Tuesday. Though they’ve been AWOL for a few months – we might need to storm their castle and find out if they fell in their moat or something.

More Tuesday hops – if you’re stopping by here from there, please do me a favor and follow via LinkyFollowers – since I was robbed of my GFC followers when the cads at Google decided to boycott non-Blogger blogs. The Tuesday hops seems to have diminished – if you have one let me know and I’ll add you here, too!

  1. Poor little dude – if it makes you feel better, I still walk into walls because I am more focused on next then now (wait, that probably won’t make you feel better). I love his sneaks! and they both looked amazing for halloween!

  2. Our girls had those flashing light tennis shoes when they were small. They were so cool! I remember one time seeing their tennis shoes that they were not wearing, light up simply from the movement elsewhere in the house during the middle of the night. That was a little creepy at first. Poor Little Dude! The things kids do. Our youngest two got some nasty cuts on their foreheads doing seemingly innocent things. Oh well, have faith things will get better on your end amidst your struggles. We are always here for you. BTW, I (aka Cathy Kennedy’s Blog) have a new blog address (see Curious as a Cathy above). Be sure to hop over to check my work-in-progress out!

  3. Those were some pretty good costumes! I loved it when Turbo had the light up shoes when we were camping. It made it easy to keep track of where he was in the dark.
I dread the first crash Bruiser has at school. It’s inevitable. The kid is a klutz. Hope the goose egg went away quick.

  4. My sonss had constant bruises on the heads/foreheads/legs/arms when they were that age – it’s just part of being a rambunctious little boy (and apparently a lady killer, too! *wink*). But look at that sweet face – who could resist holding his hand as he runs through the playground?

  5. We went trick-or-treating with a huge gaggle of people this year, and I wanted to smack myself for not remembering to get Glow-Sticks so I could easily locate my 2 boys…until my 7-year-old turned on his Light Saber! That thing was a life-saver when it came to helping me spot him quickly! Thankfully, hubby escorted our toddler to all the houses, so I didn’t need to worry about him either.

I honestly think Princess Nagger’s costume of Katniss was one of the coolest costumes I saw this year!

Poor little dude! My little dude is now sick with bronchitis after having just recovered from a cut on his face from running face-first into a door frame. Right before school pictures. It’s always something with little guys!

  6. Poor little guy! I missed that post on Facebook! Man!

A few weeks ago, my 8 year old dropped a brick on her foot. I thought she broke her foot. Nope, just seriously bruised. She’s just like your little dude. Always thinking about the next move but never in the moment. *sigh*

My little guy would LOVE those shoes! How cute are those!

    Loved the Halloween costumes, too!
