I am late (sorry, Gretchen!) so this is going to be short and sweet.  We ran off to Best Buy to pick up a new computer for me since mine has decided it didn’t like the cooling fan HP put in it just a year ago, and has decided to go all hot and bothered on me again.  Maybe my laptop is experiencing Menopause.

Since it’s out of warranty, I had plans to replace the cooling fan myself – even bought the fan, so that will be happening here in the next couple of days when I have a chance to take over my parents’ dining room table so I don’t lose any screws.

I’m sure there will be comments made about me having a screw loose.  Ahem.

But we decided it was time to upgrade (and Princess Nagger will get my current laptop to replace her dying one), so off we went in the rain to get something more reliable, because my sanity has just about had enough.  The new computer will be my Christmas present – the hubby is definitely a keeper.

Speaking of keepers…  I was very happy to see one of my favorite actresses receive her star on the Walk of Fame:

Mariska Hargitay Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

I’ve always liked Mariska Hargitay, and love the fact that she happens to be the daughter of one of my mom’s favorite actresses, Jayne Mansfield.  Her older half-sister looks a lot like her mom:

Pictured from left to right is her dad, Mickey Hargitay, brother Miklos Hargitay, brother Zoltan Hargitay, her mom Jayne Mansfield, and her older half-sister Jayne Marie Mansfield.  Her sister (who I didn’t know she had) also came out to support her as she got her well-deserved star:

The two sisters are very close – which is how it should be.

In other news…. Princess Nagger was balancing a giant dog chewy on her head which of course led to lots of teasing about her being a ‘bonehead’:

PN-BoneHead

She’s such a goofy girl – I hope she never loses her silliness.

Speaking of silly… My bloggy friend Jan of Jan’s Sushi Bar posted this on Facebook the other day:

MickeyMouseClub

Mickey Mouse Club – get it?!  And the kicker is, that is actually a cake!  Some people are so talented.  To think of all the fun that kind of party theme could be…

Speaking of parties…  Princess Nagger’s Birthday Party at Build-A-Bear Workshop went off without a hitch – everyone had a fabulous time, and all seemed happy with their new little stuffed friends they got to take home.  I haven’t had a chance to pull the pictures off the camera yet, so you’re just going to have to wait to see those.

OK, that’s a wrap for this week – told you it was going to be short and sweet(ish)!  You know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome – random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

I’m also linking up with two stellar ladies, Shawn and Impulsive, the lovely hosts of Talk To Us Tuesday. Though they’ve been AWOL for a few months – we might need to storm their castle and find out if they fell in their moat or something.

Seriously Shawn

  1. Congrats on the new computer. I’m hoping to baby ours along a little while longer but I’m not sure for how long.

  2. Sorry to hear about your computer woes. We bought a MacBook Pro about a year ago. It has a flash drive and it’s super quiet. The fan rarely comes on. In fact, I wonder if even has one. Maybe with the solid state drives a fan is not needed. Whatever the reason, it’s not noisy and it’s cool all the time.

Kids need to be goofy. PN is so funny and it’s wonderful you catch in the act with your camera. Those will make for some fabulous memories later on. That cake is really cool. That gal has some mega talent and patience to put that together. Yay, on PN bday party going well.

Have a terrific Tuesday & thanks for hosting RTT!

  3. LOL that sandwich is awesome. And it’s funny she can balance so well: remember how girls used to have to practice walking while balancing a book because it helped with posture and made them “ladies”? How outdated!

  4. New computers are fun. We have yet to have Turbo ask for one, he’s way more into his Kindle. I have the feeling we only have another couple years until he will need one of his own.
The more I see of PN, the more I think she and Turbo would get along famously. Turbo would do the balancing thing too.

  5. OK, I literally LOL’d over that Mickey Mouse Club cake! TOO cute. It is amazing what they can do with cakes these days. My mom used to bake & decorate cakes, and she’s amazed at how far they’ve come since she was doing it. True works of art!!
