Favorite Time of Year

This is my all-time favorite time of year.  With crisp clear air, the trees and foliage starting to turn into a gloriously painted landscape, what’s not to love?

Some trees tend to have that resistance factor, hanging on to their green sections as long as possible, while their outer sections start turning vibrant colors:

Some trees embrace this time of year and show off their vibrant colors:

Even foggy days have their appreciative factor:

Especially when it makes a regular old pumpkin patch just a little more ethereal:

Hey looky! This post can actually do double-duty so I can participate with the lovely Gretchen, from Second Blooming in this week’s Spin Cycle! This week on the Spin Cycle is “Autumn” – so there ya go. Be sure to stop by and see who’s jumping in the leaves, and who’s hiding until spring.

About StacyUncorked

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Stacy was surprised when Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance - deciding to forgo the career and stay home was a no-brainer. As if her hands weren't full enough, 8 years later she and her husband added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension (of crazy) to their family and even more sleepless nights. When she’s not refereeing kids, dogs and cats, she loves to write, hence the reason she decided to start her little blog, and because she never got a baby book to mark milestones, this was the next best thing. She also enjoys doing reviews and giveaways for products she or her family would willingly use and can stand behind. She loves to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, she takes on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. Her favorite, of course, is making her award winning wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway.

  1. My favorite time of year is the fall. It feels so nice after a long hot summer. Trouble with fall in the desert is that sometimes it lasts only two weeks. This year it seems to be lingering on.

Your fall weather looks lovely. We don’t get to see any color change here, either. The leaves on our cottonwoods just crisp up and fall off without any showy display.

  2. We must be psychic! I was going to come and see if you were back today. We’ve been missing each other with your move and our holiday. Hope the move went well! Lovely photos! I love Autumn too! x

  3. The whole year. I’ve always loved Winter, it’s fun for the kids, it’s got excitment of snow or no snow, it’s not too hot, and there’s always a chance school will be cancelled and if power isn’t out? you are home in your pjs watching cartoons. 🙂

  4. I must say, fall is the best with all the colors changing, mother nature with her paint brush adding all the beautiful colors from her pallet!! Love the trees in your photos!! Would love to have some of those for projects!!

  5. Stacy- I hope all is going well in your new home. Looks like the fall is beautiful there. There sure are a lot of pumpkins in that patch.
    🙂

  6. Okay, that’s the best pumpkin patch picture (say that three times fast) I’ve seen in a long time. Gorgeous! I love fall too. I bet you’re loving your new northeast location about now!

    Thanks for linking up!

  7. Definitely Fall because I love all the colors and great weather. We bought burning bushes finally for the front of our house, and I’ve been told it takes a couple of years for them to turn red. Well, this is the second year & I’m still waiting. They’re very green & have not been loosing any leaves yet. I’ll have to take pics & show you. Love Love Love you photos. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I wish we got more variation in our colors. Most of the trees that grow here turn yellow. Or brown if it freezes at the wrong time.

  9. I’m so glad you did double duty this week! Most of our trees this year are hanging on to those green leaves and then just falling off quickly. They are not as pretty as they usually are! I do love fall.

Thanks for linking up this week! 🙂
