Is it just me, or does Daylight Saving Time throw things into a tizzy?Β  It’s so hard to not stay up later than I should because I’m just not tired an hour earlier than normal, but that makes hearing the alarm an hour earlier in the morning that much more annoying.Β

Along with bedtime fiasco’s you have mealtime and nap-time adjustments to deal with.Β  We should move where they don’t change the clocks twice a year – maybe that’s why so many people retire to Arizona, you think?

Speaking of DST, my bloggy buddy Vandy had this hilarity posted yesterday on Facebook:

DST

Amen to that.

Speaking of Facebook funnies… this funny was floating on Facebook last week and caused a chuckle (you might have to click on it to read it clearly):

Mom

Always seems to be the case, doesn’t it?

Something of note:Β  When you have a big muscular cat that looks like a gray panther, and said muscle headed cat is trying to dance on your keyboard while you’re busy working, it’s not a good idea to try to launch the muscle head off the keyboard one-handed.Β  You really should use two hands, because his girth and weight will work against you, not to mention his deadly claws.Β  Case-in-point:

CatScratch

Ouch.

Speaking of muscle heads…Β  Little Dude is going to need to be reeducated on the art of tooth-brushing.Β  As in, you don’t need that much toothpaste, or it ends up in the sink like this:

ToothpasteSink

No wonder there always seems to be a toothpaste shortage.

Speaking of shortages…Β  Don’t you hate it when you’re formulating the perfect post with the perfect prose in your head as you clean up the dinner dishes, but then you go and switch the laundry around, make sure PN’s backpack is ready for school the next day, clean out the litter box and make sure the electric blankets are turned on the beds so they’ll be toasty warm at bedtime – and when you finally get back to your laptop, the perfectly formed prose is now completely erased from your brain.Β

Of course then you end up with a long run-on sentence.Β  Ahem.

Speaking of erased brain…Β  I was down and out with a nasty flu bug last week – I know, right?Β  No fun being sick as a mom, because we never get any true down time to take care of ourselves and nurse ourselves back to health.Β  We have to power through and continue to do what we do best.Β  My brain was so foggy I can’t remember if I got around to visit everyone last week – so if I missed you, I apologize.Β  I will make sure to get around to everyone today – that’s a promise.

That’s a wrap for this week – link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

    1. I not only Neosporined, but I also doused it with Hydrogen Peroxide right after it happened to make sure it didn’t get infected. It was much angrier looking when it first happened…heh! Toothpaste in the sink really is nasty to clean – they need to invent toothpaste that not only cleans your teeth, but cleans the sink like nobody’s business! πŸ™‚ I’m feeling more human (finally) – thank you for the well wishes! πŸ™‚

  1. I’ve got a good scratch on my finger thanks to my mom’s cat… those claws are vicious!!!!

I’m dying right now too -I cant get to sleep early & my alarm goes off at 5… & I think, that’s really 4 am? that just ticks me off

    1. Cat claws are vicious, aren’t they?

The whole sleep thing is a conundrum with the time change, isn’t it? For some reason my brain doesn’t do the mental correction at night thinking “Oh, midnight is really 11pm…” but when the alarm starts blaring at 5:30am, my brains thinking “Noooo! It’s only 4am!!” πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by, Rebecca Jo! πŸ™‚

  2. My boys are terrible about the toothpaste! I am forever cleaning their sink and it’s kind of gross. And yeah, DST and die in a fire. LOL.

  3. Turbo treats brushing like it’s going to kill him. He hates it. Bruiser on the other hand likes brushing his teeth.
Nasty scratch, cats are like that though. Hope it gets better soon.
HA! I shared the indian today too!

    1. Princess Nagger is the same way Turbo is – she’s resistant and grumbles about having to brush her teeth (and I have to nag her to do a thorough job – which obviously I fail at because she’s had to have fillings in her baby teeth…ugh.)

Thanks for the Indian on Facebook yesterday – love that you shared it for RTT, too! πŸ˜€

  4. When I was little I always thought DST made the days longer. I know this isn’t true, but with the longer days then it sure does feel this way at times. I do prefer the extra light in the evening, though.

Strangely, the time change doesn’t bother me like it did when I was in my early 20s.

What a fun Facebook app! I don’t need an app to discover my inner goofy side, though. I’m goofy all the time.

    Thanks for hosting!

Pssst…next week I will be absent in Blogosphere. More news on that in a future post. =D

    1. DST does give the illusion of days being longer, doesn’t it? Probably because it’s light later. I just wish they’d pick one and stick to it – it only exists because of way back when for farming.

Hopefully your absence in the blogosphere next week will be a result of a good thing not a bad thing, Cathy!!

  5. I know we are all so sad when our kids are sick, but at least we’re there to take care of them, but when Mom’s sick it’s like the world is coming to an end. Everything still needs to get done, and no one takes care of us, even us. Hope you’re feeling better.

    1. When kids are sick, we take care of them – when us mom’s are sick, we still have to do everything we always do, even when we feel like death warmed over. And then there’s the hubby’s – who are bigger babies than the kids when they’re sick! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the well wishes, Karen! πŸ™‚

    1. This week is definitely the instigator of feeling more tired until our brain resets that internal clock to match the actual clocks after losing that hour. Crazy, isn’t it? πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by, Estelle! πŸ™‚

  6. Daylight savings time has got us ALL out of whack – like you, we are going to bed far too late. Of course, the Downton Abbey and Breaking Bad marathons probably aren’t helping…

  7. My friend did get cat scratch fever from..well, from a cat! Keep an eye on that! Oh, the perfect post retention…my thoughts usually come when I am driving. I try to make sure there is paper and a pen for stop sign scribbling. Sometimes i think a lecture recorder would be perfect, as well as amusing to passing motorists “note to self…”

    1. I always worry about actually getting cat scratch fever any time I get a cat scratch – especially one as bad as this one. I’m fanatical about dousing it in hydrogen peroxide to thoroughly cleaning it out, then covering it in neosporin and bandages. I take the band-aids off at night so oxygen can help heal it faster, too. πŸ™‚

Heh, I’ve though about using a lecture recorder to record my thoughts, too – though I suppose if I carried my cell phone with me, even around the house (which I don’t – I leave it where it charges all the time unless I grab it at night for a backup alarm or when I’m going somewhere) I could use the speech to text note app I have on there…might have to do that! πŸ™‚ Yes, amusing passing motorist would be a bonus! πŸ˜‰

  8. Ugh! My daughter leaves toothpaste in the sink all the time! It does help clean the sink, though πŸ™‚
And I ‘m waking up exactly an hour later than my usual wake up of 4:45… Weird!
Rene Foran would like you to read ..a familiar twinkleMy Profile

    1. That’s funny your daughter is the culprit leaving toothpaste in the sink, Rene! My daughter doesn’t usually, but Little Dude looks like he squeezes toothpaste purposely in the sink. It does make the sink shine, though – after dealing with the stickiness (since I usually don’t find it until the next morning when it’s hardened…heh!)

Too wild you’re waking up exactly an hour later than your usual wake up time! πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  9. Heheh…I have scratches like that all over some weeks! I should just let the kitty sit on my keyboard, since she probably has better ideas on some evenings!

Daylight savings has hit us during spring break, so we are going to be suffering next Monday, trying to get up in the dark!

    1. Maybe my muscle head cat wanted to give his input – I suppose I should let him one of these days, eh? πŸ˜‰

Lucky you getting spring break this week of all weeks! Hopefully it won’t be a huge struggle to get up in the dark next week! πŸ˜‰

  10. Daylight savings time KILLED me. I had to get my blood transfusion Monday at 11 and I have to wake up at 9 and I’m nowhere near normal, I can’t function before 11. It’s bad enough having to get up at 9 but it was “really” 8 and I got so sick during my transfusion I had to have Ryan come home from work and I got in bed and slept for 19 hours!
