SuperBowl2013

This weekend is Super Bowl – for the fanatical sports fans, it’s a big deal.  Well, it is the Super Bowl, so for some of the not-so-fanatical sports fans it will still be a big deal.

When I was living in Seattle, my brother and I would alternate who would host the big Super Bowl party each year.  It was a great excuse to have a big party, complete with lots of food and beverages of all kinds, but mostly to have all our friends and family gathered in one location for some riotous fun.   After moving to Pennsylvania, since the hubby isn’t a sports fanatic and all my friends and family were thousands of miles away, that annual event has been missed, big time.

Since we have plans to move back to Washington State this summer, the hubby will finally get to see all the fun he’s missed.  Maybe he’ll even be converted into somewhat of a sports fan to a degree.  At least I never have to worry about being a Sports Widow.

Being a Seattle Girl, I had hoped that my Seahawks would have pulled off the chance to actually play in the Super Bowl, but alas they did not.  I’ll naturally be rooting for my next favorite West Coast team – the 49ers.  I know many of you here on the East Coast will think I’m crazy, since I should be rooting for the team from this side of the country, but I have my reasons.  And besides, in spite of there being a couple of players on the San Francisco team I’m not impressed by, I still have to stick with my West Coast roots.

Which brings me to this weeks question(s):

Do you host or go to an annual Super Bowl Party, and if so, what’s the plan for this year? Which team will you be rooting for?

Have a great weekend!

From Kailani at An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let’s take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question…nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!

  1. Hi Stacy!
I’m really not into the whole Superbowl thing this year. I’m excited about the puppy bowl (crazy…I know…it’s less stressful).

I’m on the fence with the picture linky from Mr Linky. I really like the plug-in but, the picture linky is a bit slow. When I use it on WW I always get someone who comments that they can’t get it to work (blocking pop ups no doubt).
Anyway, have a great weekend and smile pretty!

    1. The puppy bowl actually sounds like fun! 🙂

Thanks for the heads up on the linky – I added a traditional link linky for those that have trouble with the picture linky. Appreciate the input! Have a great weekend, Harriet! 🙂

  2. The Superbowl is about the only pro football game we reliably watch. And I watch it more for the commercials (which have been disappointing the last few years) than the football. We get together with family friends and let the kids run riot and snack all afternoon and evening and enjoy the company more than the game.

  3. Nope, we don’t do sports in this house! Just music. Besides there’s a gig this Saturday so I’m sure we’ll be sleeping nice and late. Thanks for sharing your plans. Have a great weekend.
