Tuesday’s are one of my favorite days of the week, mostly because it generates some great randomness from all of you. You all entertain me, and I sure like to be entertained. I need to say right up front I’m terribly sorry for being such a sucky host the past few weeks – life has been filling up my plate to overflowing and I’ve been constantly swimming upstream trying to catch up. Let’s just start with a clean plate this week, m’kay? No swimming upstream.

On that note, I have apparently created a monster. Princess Nagger has been actively involved (and at times given her two-cents) with any reviews that come across my desk. She really loves it when I get something to review that will benefit her in the fun factor mode.

She decided randomly out of the blue this weekend that she wants to start doing video reviews. So with the hubby’s help, she has posted her first video review as The Review Guru:

She’s already brainstorming what her next crazy review will be. Apparently I’ll need to help the hubby out with the whole lighting factor, but not bad for her very first independent one, right?

Have you heard of an egg in a nest? Here’s a picture I found online:

Doesn’t that look yummy? Basically you take a cookie cutter and cut out the center of a piece of bread, add the egg and fry them together – like magic you have egg and toast in one dish. Princess Nagger wants me to make one for her, though I’ll have to get different cookie cutters. I’m thinking that using the mustache ones wouldn’t be a very good idea. Egg stuck in a mustache would just be gross. Maybe a dinosaur one might be interesting – I’ll have to do some scientific experiments and share the results with you in a future post.

Did you hear about the deer that were running on a horse racetrack this weekend?

Three deer got onto the race course before the horses did – and ran around the track.  The race announcer didn’t miss a beat – he began calling the race as it unfolded, saying things like: “As they race down the track, Bambi has the lead. Here comes Rudolph from the outside.”

The deer ran fast but kept changing directions. At one point, they appeared headed to the paddock, where the horses were being held.  Several minutes into the show, the deer decided to leave the track to the horses.  The race announcer said Bambi won the race.

The hubby sent me this image that was floating around Facebook recently:

He thought it was funny, because it sounds exactly like how Princess Nagger would answer a question like that.

I bet you’re wondering how the heck my birthday was, aren’t you?  It was awesome.  If you follow me on Facebook, you already saw the first two of my birthday presents:

Gorgeous flowers from my sister and her hubby, and yes that is the Mr. Coffee Latte Maker that was on my Santa List on Friday.  That picture is from me making my first Eggnog Latte the morning of my birthday – it was delicious.  I also was spoiled by a new Furby:

He had it camouflaged in a giant black garbage bag so I wouldn’t guess what it was before unwrapping it.  You gotta love his creativity.  Princess Nagger has already been introducing it to the Furby she got for her birthday – and has shown me how to use the app on my phone to feed it and make it do all sorts of funky things.  Nothing like enjoying some awesome childlike fun.

He further spoiled me with this gorgeous necklace:

Isn’t it pretty?  It has baguette diamonds in the center, with diamonds in my birthstone color on the outside edges.  Here’s a closer look:

He picked it out all by himself – usually I find something I like and send him a link as a hint, but not this time.  He’s definitely a keeper.

Speaking of Birthdays… Don’t forget to check out my Birthday Wino / Non-Wino Giveaway – you don’t want to miss it.

That’s a wrap for week – link up and join in the fun. Everyone is welcome, random or not.

  1. You received some awesome presents for your birthday. My bday is in just a couple of days. Love Princess Nagger’s video review. She tells it like it is! That egg in a nest looks yummy and is pretty creative.

  2. You made out like a bandit for your birthday, girl friend. Hooray for you! That snowflake pendant is beautiful and you got flowers and a latte maker. WOW! Since DH got me the digital SLR I wanted back in the summer, I told him to not get me anything for my upcoming bday months ago. Of course, I know he won’t listen to me. He’ll have to get me something even if it’s a little something to make the moment extra special. Happy random! Oh yeah, your little monster did a great job as the ReviewGuru. I think manufactors will eat this idea up, if they get wind that PN is hosting her own. Seriously! 😀

  4. Hey Stacey! Personally, I hadn’t noticed any slacking…but I did enjoy this post. I think its great that Princess Nagger is getting her opinion out there. IF she wants to review my book – a book for teachers – from a student’s perspective – let me know – I’ll send her a PDF. All I ask is that in addition to the video, she write a review for amazon.com too! (You can email or leave a message on my blog).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY too! It looks like it was a great one.

AND, I LOVED the Seahorse comment. As a teacher of critical reading and writing I’d LOVE a response like that! I love when personality shines through!

I’m rambling. Have a great week and let me know if the Princess would like to review my book!

  6. Lovely necklace–those guys do surprise us don’t they?
We make what we call Abracadabra eggs here–same idea, but I just tear a hole in the center of the bread, butter the bread and then add the egg in the pan. Turbo or Bruiser have to help me turn it by saying abracadabra when I turn it so it turn well. Turbo likes these, because the egg is runny and he like to dip the bread in it.

  7. Oh my love your presents & yes you are spoiled, but a well deserved kind of spoiled. Your husband has wonderful taste. I am sooooooo jealous of your beautiful snowflake necklace & of your coffee lattee maker omg be still my heart! I didn’t even know they make those I have got to run & put that on my list. Flowers are very pretty. I wish I had a sister! 🙁 Always did. I’m so happy for your that it was a great birthday that you deserve. Your little guru is fabulous. She is so expressionable is the only word I can thing of (is that a word?). Well, if it isn’t a word your daughter just made up a new word cuz that’s exactly what she is. LOL I guess that’s not bacon… tell her Xmasdolly said it looks like sweet candy too me. Like Christmas hard candy (she said to leave a comment below – here’s mine). She did a great job for her first try! I also like that she didn’t spit on camera. hahahahaha Have a great day my friend!

  8. When I was a kid, “Eggs in a Nest” were my favourite breakfast! We called it an egg in a hole, though. (I’ve also heard them called Bull’s Eyes). My mom never used a cookie cutter, though – she just used a cup and tramped it down on the bread to make the hole. (Fry that bit up too, it’s yummy!)

LOVE that necklace… Oh, I want one now!!! Glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday 🙂

PN is hilarious. I don’t know what that candy looks like, but I agree – it does not look like bacon! LOL!
