Another weekend that seems to have sped by at the speed of light, bringing us once again to another Monday.  Did you know that the name of Monday is derived from Old English Mōnandæg and Middle English Monenday, which means “moon day”?  Well now you do.

Monday also means it’s time for some great music – and this week the theme was chosen by a previously featured Spotlight Dancer, Chronicles From The Man Cave who suggested we feature International Music this week.  I’m always up for a challenge.

Let’s start off with a very creative guy who started off as a DJ at nightclubs during the 80’s and 90’s before co-founding a production company and releasing his first album in 2002.  Since then he’s performed with a myriad of big name stars, holding his own as a star himself.  Born in Paris, France (a place I’d love to visit some day), here’s David Guetta with “I Can Only Imagine” (ft. Chris Brown):

Next let’s take a trip to England and check out an artist who I ran across when I heard one of her songs while watching Drop Dead Diva.  She hasn’t been around too long, her debut album was released in 2010, but she’s become quite the star to watch rise.  This  song reached the top five in the UK as well as the top forty in Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand and Europe overall, released as a single prior to her second album release in 2011.  Here’s Ellie Goulding with “Anything Could Happen”:

The next group is also from England, whose music I’ve shared in the past.  2010 must have been a good year in England, as this band was formed then, though their debut album wasn’t globally released until 2012.  They have a new album coming up next month – this is the lead single from that album.  Here’s One Direction with “Live While We’re Young”:

This next artist hails from Australia (another place I’d love to visit some day) and was voted by Australian Country Music fans the 2012 CMC OZ Artist of the Year.  I’ve now added a bunch of her songs to my playlist, since she has quite a few really fun ones – this is one of them.  Here’s Jasmine Rae with “Hunky Country Boys”:

And last, but certainly not least, I cannot leave out one of my favorite artists who hails from Canada.  She took a long break from performing while her life took some unusual twists and turns, but she recently came back with a new song that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.  Here’s Shania Twain with “Today Is Your Day”:

Seize the day – because today is your day. Have a great Monday.

Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:

Check out Xmas Dolly’s sidebar for the random themes we sport each week – and you can always ask for a specific theme of music you like, too. Check out the other music lovahs and let’s jam!
