Hello June.  I don’t even want to think about how many days there are until Christmas, but in case you do, there are approximately 206 days.  Better get busy.

It looks like we’re finally slated to have actual spring weather as opposed to the summer heat we’ve been experiencing that has been driving me crazy.  Today will be rife with wickedly wild thunderstorms, so it’ll be a good day to stay in and get some things done – like bottling my new batch of homemade kahlua and getting a few new batches of wine started so there’s time to rack them a couple of times before we head off on our crazy road trip across the country.

Today also marks Princess Nagger’s first full day of Summer Break, so I’m sure there will be some lamenting going on later about boredom since she’ll be cooped up due to the thunder storms.  I think it will be as good a time as any to put her to work – that’ll take care of the boredom.

I’m keeping this short and sweet today – so much to do, so little time.  And I’m sure I’ll be busy refereeing the antics sure to follow Princess Nagger and Little Dude around, now that they’re both home all day.  Now you know why I’m planning to make more wine today.

I just need to get a wine glass like Jules’:

Which brings me to this week’s question:

What do you like doing on a rainy day? How do you keep boredom at bay?

Have a great weekend.

Happy Aloha Friday!

From Kailani at An Island Life:
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let’s take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question…nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!

  1. When I was young I do always want to play outside the house with the rain. We play catch with my friends during the season because it can relax our mind. But since I am not a kid anymore, I prefer to read and watch television at home. In addition, you can also try to play indoor games with your family members.

  2. Rainy dazes are actually a favorite of mine now that the kids are gone (mostly). I can sit around, paint, play my uke, read and watch DIY shoes. Sometimes all at the same time.

  3. I don’t know about rainy days, but I’d probably welcome boredom this evening, since we’re watching The G Man while I begin to decorate the cake my friend is coming to pick up tomorrow. Considering the fact I’m working with something I’ve never used before – gum paste – this ought to be a lot of fun…or so I fervently hope.

  4. I actually love rainy days. If the grands are at our house we watch films, pla games or simply go out and play in the rain. The world always seems refreshed and new after a good which which we need much more of in Southern California. If the winds permit I like to ope the windows of the house so we can listen to the rain as it hits the trees and shrubs. ;D

  5. For myself, I love reading. For the boys, well that’s a bit more challenging. Movie marathons are always good if everyone can agree on the movie. Legos are a great distraction. I like to bake too. I think this summer teaching Turbo to do simple cooking things–make a sandwich, cook frozen pizza, stuff like that is on the agenda.

  6. I encourage my kids to enjoy their boredom times because there will be times when they will have to be going and working and schooling and chores and they won’t always want to. They seem to understand.

On rainy days, it’s just regular play time inside or cuddle up with a movie 🙂
    It’s like a free for all 🙂
Now that it’s summer, if there is no lightning, we’ll be donning boots and head bag and going out to play int said rain 🙂

    Enjoy your weekend!

  7. I love to sit and read on rainy days 🙂 We don’t have much rain here in N California!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! We are headed to Seattle the end of the month!

  8. Oh, I know! The weather here in IL has been just completely crazy; I swear, I think Mother Nature is going through The Change-First it’s scorching hot, then it’s freezing cold…

    Crazy stuff!

To beat the boredom for me, it just depends on my mood. Sometimes I’ll be in a beading mood and I’ll sit and make jewelry for hours. Other times, I feel like watching a movie or reading a book. If I’m well enough, I like to experiment in the kitchen cooking and baking.

    Hope you’re having a great weekend ^.^

  9. nowadays i don’t know if it’s my own impression but the month are going too fast. just yesterday was December and i remember that i was in home town celebrating Christmas with my family and friends. Today again just 206 days before December and i know that these days will end very soon.

  10. If it’s a work day and my little one is at school and the hubs is at work, I like to crank the tunes and do housework. Once that’s done, it’s time to curl up with a good book until it’s time to pick up my daughter at kindergarten.

Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful and sunny day!
