Hard to believe it’s already the last Monday of April, the last day of April. Since we didn’t end up with any Snow Days this past winter, Princess Nagger only has 4-1/2 weeks of school left. Which means summer is right around the corner. Are you ready for summer?
This week’s theme for Monday’s Music Moves Me is a freebie week – which means today I have an eclectic mix for you. Some of my recent favorite shows like Hart of Dixie and GCB have been grabbing my attention with their background music – so much so I actually had to take the time to find them so I could share them with you.
First up is a band that plays in Toronto, not sure if they are signed with a label anywhere yet, but if not someone should scoop them up. Here’s First Aid Kit with “When I Grow Up”:
Next up is a recent song from two of my favorite country stars – an unexpected duo – here’s Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw with “Feel Like A Rock Star”:
Next is another of my favorite stars with a newer song that was recently on GCB, here’s Reba with “A Little Want To”:
I’ve always loved this next song, it’s one I’ll have on repeat on those days I really feel like dancing. Also recently brought back into the spotlight on GCB, here’s the Dixie Chicks with “Some Days You Gotta Dance”:
Last but not least, here’s a group I’ve never heard before – another unknown (to me) I heard on Hart of Dixie, here’s Whale Tooth with “Under These Stars”:
Do you search for music you’ve heard on TV shows or movies when they catch your ear? Enjoy your Monday!
Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:
I have the supreme honor and privilege of being a co-host with the inimitable Xmas Dolly and her cohorts in crime, Lorie of The Shewbridges of Celebration, Florida, Callie from JAmericanSpice, and our very special guest hostesses: Cathy from Cathy Kennedy’s Blog, and Denise from Run DMT.
Want to join in the fun? It’s easy – just find a tune that rocks your boat, post it and link up – don’t forget to grab Xmas Dolly…er, um, I mean her button…over at her place here. Check out Xmas Dolly’s sidebar for the random themes we sport each week – and you can always ask for a specific theme of music you like, too. Check out the other music lovahs and let’s jam!
The awesome Run DMT also hosts Music Monday (and graciously helps out with our hostessing every time we need it):
Lately I’ve been noticing soundtracks more than I used to. It’s a great way to find new-to-me music.

I love that first song by First Aid Kit. The guitar picking in it is just beautiful. Her voice has a bit of a twang and lilt, almost like a country Celtic sound.
I haven’t seen GCB yet. I’ve heard a lot about it though. Do you like it?

I am loving the music on GCB but I am bad at searching it out, my ‘kids’ are great at it and if I really want something I put them on it 🙂
Needless to say you have done a good job for me so I am adding a bunch to my iPod. What a successful week I am having this Monday!!

First song is new on me, but man in the beginning I had visions of Adelle, didn’t you? Okay new CD for Dolly time. hehehe And Reba well she should be called Reba Country – she’s just too Queen of Country! Love her. Dixie Chicks are always a favorite I like them cuz they are definitely balsy if ya know what I mean. Totally hot! This one is a new one for me OOOPS ANOther new CD! hehehe Last one is new to me too, but I must say she’s really working for that applause!!! Look how she’s sweating up a storm. You go girl!
