Today is an extra special day – it’s my brother’s birthday!  Meet Michael:

He’s married to one of the sweetest people I know, Roxann (who puts up with his crazy ways better than anyone) and has the most adorable twin daughters who are only a year older than Princess Nagger:

He’s one of the reasons I get homesick for Washington State – growing up we were always close, always trying to get our two sisters in trouble (and those antics usually backfired on us).  He throws the best Super Bowl Parties (second only to the ones I threw) and he’s as passionate about wine (and making it) as I am.  He put up with being the only boy in our family, holding his own with us three sisters.  I tell him he’s my favorite brother…

Happy Birthday, Mikey!  I miss you and can’t wait to move back to Seattle so I can harass hang out with you again on a regular basis.

In honor of my brother’s birthday, I’m sharing a song that makes me laugh every time I hear it, and Princess Nagger is concurring with the message now that she has a little brother to annoy her.  From the Merry Kidsmas album, “Box of Rocks”:

  5. First off, congrats on your brother for surviving three sisters! I feel for him, really I do. We have two girls and our youngest is a boy. I know personally he has taken a lot of abuse over the years, but now, he’s bigger and stronger than both of his sisters put together. This is something I warned them about repeatedly, but those words fell on deaf ears. Of course, he’s rather gentle and kind to them despite the torture he was put through. lol

    I have never heard this song Box of Rockes. It’s so adorable. You know, I have a recipe for Santa’s coal, if you’d like it let me know. This would be a hoot for you to make and send to him. In fact, I may make it for our kiddos just for a big ole tease.

    Your country version picks of some of the classic Christmas songs were totally enjoyable to tap my toes to this morning and sing along with. Have a good Monday!
