With how crazy this time of year is, coupled with how trashed my house currently is with Christmas decor, wrapping paper, stacks of gifts that are patiently hiding in plain sight in plain cardboard boxes waiting to be wrapped, planning a birthday party with a gaggle of kids to descend on our house was not an option.

This is the first year I didn’t plan anything major – there was so much going on what with Little Dude joining our family and so many time consuming things related that, the days simply got away from me.  So to pacify the Princess Nagger, I let her talk me into hosting a smallish birthday party at the dreaded Chuck E. Cheese.  Because it was so close to Christmas, the friends she wanted to join her were unable to, save for her very best friend.

They played games:

Flew to new heights:

Ate pizza and collected as many tickets as possible for the final prizes at the end.  Then it was time for the coronation:

Fun was had by all:

But the highlight for Princess Nagger was the thing she looked forward to the most – the Ticket Blaster:

She managed to collect 273 tickets in the Ticket Blaster.  She could barely contain her excitement.  Between the tickets she and her BFF collected, and the contributions from both the hubby and I, she managed over 3000 tickets which she split with her BFF so they could each get a giant slinky plus a few other things.  This was the first visit to Chuck E. Cheese that wasn’t chaotic, since we went early on a Saturday morning and beat all the crowds.

Do you do Chuck E. Cheese?

  1. Chuck E. Cheese in the midst of Christmas chaos?! You are a good mom! I have panic attacks in that place.

Love all the photos! My girls always ask to do the ticket blaster. I cannot believe y’all collected 3000 tickets all together! MADNESS! I think Allana would have a heart attack if she had that many.

  2. I *did* do Chuck E. Cheese, back when Son was of the right age. As he is now approaching a quarter century, those days are but a memory. For his 21st birthday, though, we went to an adult version – a casino in Louisiana!

    Happy WW, and Merry Christmas!

  3. One of my brothers has a birthday close to Christmas and he always felt jilted in the party department. It’s great you made an effort to celebrate Princess’ bday even if it meant going to the Cheese. I’ve never set foot in that place, but I know my day is coming! i LOVE the picture of you two. 🙂

  4. That is awesome! I remember loving arcades and places like Chuck E Cheese when I was little, because I loved getting tickets to exchange for random trinkets. My poor parents. I’ve never been with Baby T, but I keep socking away the coupons that come in Sunday’s circular thinking I should go one rainy day.

  5. I don’t do Chuck E Cheese. With my son’s chronic medical issues and immunity issues we avoided places like that for years. But last year for his 9th birthday he begged and I relented. He had so much fun so it was worth it even if they don’t serve vodka for the mommies…kidding!
Happy, happy birthday to your girl! Looks like fun was had by all.

  6. That’s so cute! Funny thing is that we took our little one to Chuck E Cheese for the first time the other night. Couldn’t think of anything else to do with her and her little friend. They had a blast. And it wasn’t nearly as obnoxious as I remember it being. Looks like your Princess had a blast! That ticket blaster thing is TOO cool.

  7. Hey! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I had to ask. Does operating a well-established blog such as yours require a lot of work? I am completely new to blogging however I do write in my diary on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!
