Welcome to the first day of fall!  I know, all you summer lovers are probably cursing me out about now, but fall happens to be my all-time favorite time of year.  Not just for the cooler weather (not too cold, not too hot) but for the leaves changing to brilliant colors, the crisp autumn scents and sights, and Thanksgiving looming around the corner.

Along with the season converting to my favorite time of year, it’s the new TV season as well.  Bet you thought I was going in a totally different direction with this post, didn’t you?   Old favorites have returned or are returning (like Bones, Fringe, HIMYM and Big Bang Theory – and it was so good to see A.J. and Prentiss back on Criminal Minds again!) and new hopefuls are eager to win our hearts (and a coveted spot on the DVR).

Which already brings me to this weeks question(s):

What shows (old or new) are you looking forward to watching this year? If you’re not a TV watcher, what do you do instead?

  1. So far, I’ve checked out Two and a Half Men, Hawaii Five-O, CSI – Las Vegas, Parenthood, and The Mentalist. Jury is still out on all but Parenthood and The Mentalist. Not sure about the cast changes on Hawaii Five-O and need to hold out on passing judgement on Ted Danson as the new boss at CSI. (I’m really having trouble getting Sam Malone out of my mind!) I like Ashton but need to see more before I decide if he can pull it off. (Seems like the grown-up version of Kelso!)

  2. I’m not an avid TV person, but certain shows sometimes, but not like I use too. I like House M.D., Fringe, American Idol, and I want to see the X-Factor just once to see if I’m going to like it at all. I use to like Bones, but I grew weary of it. Recently I became a daytime TV person. Like Charmed (all though I have the whole show on DVD), Supernatural (but growing tired of that now that I’ve seen every show), Las Vegas the same. I’ve seen practically every one during the day, so I’m bored with it. Lately I’ve been watching Ghost Whisper, but I’ve been seeing a lot of reruns. I may grow tired of that soon too & go back to my DVD’s. lol I’m so hard to please!!!

  4. We don’t watch a lot of television – does the Food Network count? However, season 5 of Dexter will be on DVD soon, and I AM looking forward to that.

    I too love fall but it means winter is hot on it’s heels. That I am not pleased about!!!!
    Shows….well I was interested in Charlie’s Angels…but I saw it and was disappointed to say the least!! I will watch a couple more times and then decide.

  6. I am not a big TV person (well, I am not a big as it airs TV person). I don’t really follow any shows. If I catch them on, great, but most of the time I don’t. However, I am a big rerun girl. I watch TV before bed every night, and I am obsessed with Criminal mind reruns…

  10. I love fall tv time and just wrote a post all about my fall tv viewing. I have too many fave shows to list them all, but I’m especially excited for the return of Grey’s Anatomy and Sons of Anarchy. New shows I’m interested in: Terra Nova, New Girl, and Charlie’s Angels.

  11. Oh lord! I am sooo excited to see both Ncis and Ncis:LA back! i love them! I am excited for csi miami and criminal minds!
    I am excited for body of proof.
    I love the new person of interest and two broke girls.
    There is one more show I am really looking forward to but I cant think of it’s name off top.. I will have to check my dvr lol..

  12. I like body of proof and the mentalist. watched Hawaii five of and loved it. Watched Charlies Angels last night and did not like it. However the new one “Person of Interest” looks like a good one. Hope it last.

  18. I watch WAY to much tv! I’m excited about watching The Biggest Loser, The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, Mike & Molly, Murphy’s Law, Hawaii Five-0, Parenthood, The Amazing Race, Survivor and I’m sure there are a few new ones I’ll get hooked on.

  20. Great minds think alike! I was wondering if any other people were going to have similar questions this week.

    Big Bang, HIMYM, Amazing Race, Biggest Loser, and Grey’s Anatomy are a few that I have been excited about. The only new show I was looking forward to seeing was Person of Interest (loved Michael Emerson on Lost) but it was opposite Grey’s last night 🙁

  21. I’m another fall lover. Cooler temps and beautiful colors all around. Can’t beat it. As for the TV shows, Big Bang Theory tops my list. Have a great weekend!

  22. Modern Family!!!!!! I do enjoy Community, Parks & Rec and The Office as well…Sit-com junkie here, but select in which ones. My husband has plenty of time for his dramas and reality show roundups when I conk out on the couch by 10:30.

  23. So sorry to hear about your basement! What a mess, I’m sure! Out here everything would be moldy in a minute…hope that’s not as much of a problem there.

    As for TV, we don’t have a set, but we watch TV through Netflicks. We’re in the middle of Bones so will probably keep watching that. (I like being several seasons behind…you don’t have to wait!)

  24. I don’t have time to watch much TV these days, but I get giddy when I see “himym” typed out. I love that show!! And I agree, fall is awesome; though here, it’s still in the 80s-90s. We’ll get there…in a month or so.
