Halloween is just over 7 weeks away. Sure, it seems like there’s plenty of time to plan costumes for the kidlets, but on the other hand, if you’re like me and tend to procrastinate, you (meaning I) might miss out on the requested costumes for people like, say, Princess Nagger. Especially since this year, she wants to be something different. She wants to dress up as an Angry Bird.
Ahem.
I know what you’re thinking – I thought the same thing: “I can talk her into something else because they don’t have Angry Birds costumes. *Whew*” And like me, you’d be wrong. Or not, because maybe you already knew there are Angry Birds costumes out there. So, like any good mother (who wants to make sure her Princess Nagger is a happy nagger), you go online and peruse your options, relieved that you are able to talk her into choosing the less expensive of the three birds available (albiet the dorkiest of the bunch):
Gone are the days of dressing up like a pretty princess or fairy sprite. Now she’s more interested in what she considers cool and unique. But I certainly can’t blame her, because she is cool and unique.
Little Dude is apparently cool and unique as well, because when I asked him what he wanted to dress up as, his immediate response was “McQueen!” as in Lightning McQueen. I was actually surprised (and secretly glad) he didn’t pick Thomas the Train, because I found this cute costume online too:
So this year the kidlets will be walking around in 3D costumes. This should be interesting. And definitely some prime photo ops.
Which brings me to this week’s question(s):
Do you or your kids dress up for Halloween? If so, have you all decided what to dress up as?
Have a great weekend!

I believe I’m dressing as Elvira, but not sure yet. Dave has a shirt that says “COSTUME”! My granddaughter is going to be a skeleton I heard. Have a great weekend.
I am going to a Halloween bash as the Bride of Frankenstein!! Ha! Wig and all!
We are going to have a blast!
Hugs

No kids, we just stay home and enjoy the neighborhood families stopping by for a visit. Some years I dress up but I haven’t decided on a costume yet for this year.
Cute costumes. Like you, I was surprised to see an angry birds costume 🙂

Love the costumes! I love halloween, and usually dress up for work in a costume. However, I never give it any thought until about 2 days before, and then I frantically run through the house and try to pull something together…. so far, I have been lucky…
My youngest 2 still dress up for Halloween. I am not sure what my middle daughter wants to be, but the youngest wants to go as Rapunzel. I think she has seen Tangled about a million times.
Does that mean you have to hurl her out the door to get treats? Also, I am a bit disappointed that you are talking about Lightening instead of Steve.
When Indy was 3 he told me he wanted to be a bird. Here’s our convo:
Me: What do you want to be for Halloween?
Indy: A bird!
Me: A bird?
Indy: A bird!
Me: A bird?
Indy: A biiiiiiiiirD.
He wanted to be a parrot and wanted James Bond to be a pirate so he could sit on JB’s shoulder while they went T-or-Ting. Smart boy. Always thinking that one.
Two years ago he was Indiana Jones (go figure), last year he was Han Solo (I think he just likes Harrison Ford) and this year he wants to be Harry Potter. I should probably order him a costume.
I ♥ the angry bird costume!
We are passed that stage. If my boys are getting dressed up to attend parties, I’m not sure as they both live out of state.
No dressing up here but buying candy starts very early. This is JRs favorite holiday.
Well, our kids are older now…not sure if they will dress up this year or not.
Cute costumes 🙂
Yes, my little one will be dressing as a tiger for her kindergarten party and a lion as her door-to-door costume. Here in Canada, Oct 31 can be pretty darn cold so I have to find her something warm for her evening out.
Happy Friday!
I ordered a cape so I’m thinking something vampire-ish for the not so little one. But who knows. I usually don’t dress up myself but thought maybe I should just for fun!
I don’t dress up anymore… I used to when I worked…
But, my son is going as a boxer..
LOL, it was too cute for me not to get 🙂
Oh, I wish y’all could come to my neighborhood! They wouldn’t get candy from me (perhaps some nuts and fruit?), but at least I’d get to see the little darlings. You WILL take photos, yes?
Hi There! My kids are at the age where I have no input into the costume..they are super creative about upcycling.
I’m your newest follower:)

Hi! My kid wants to be transformers..new follower from ff!
I usually dress the kids up and help them hand out candy.
I”m not sure what the kids will dress up as yet. I wouldn’t be surprise if someone want to dress up like a hot wheel *narrowing of eyes here*
Happy Weekend!
following from friday blog hop.
would love a follow back as well

Sprite’s been committed to Alice In Wonderland since I bought her the costume during the last holidays. She has the dress, the Cheshire Cat, and while the shoes are too small now, we can easily find some cheap black Mary Janes. 🙂
I love the costumes! I haven’t even really started thinking about Halloween yet!! It seems so far away, but then you said 7 weeks and now it seems right around the corner!!
Newest follower! I look forward to getting to know you better 🙂

My kids are grown. Now I get to help decide what my grandkids wear.
Normally the whole family dresses up for Halloween. It’s a big event in our house.
We don’t dress-up at Halloween currently, but perhaps one of these years we will. We used to do it in the past before T, since the second kid was old enough so that we didn’t have a lot to worry about. I believe as we have less responsibilities then we will have a moment to focus on ourselves again.
T is the only one that really dresses up – she probably will be Aroura this year, since we found a beautiful sorta 3d dress. The middle child only wears a mask if he dresses up. So we are set…
I haven’t even thought about Halloween yet except for the fact that I need to start thinking about decorating. LOL!
We have an adult Halloween costume party every year : ) It is where I met my hubby!! This year we are going to do a family theme… Alice in Wonderland!!! My little monkey will be Alice, the Hubby is the Mad Hatter, and I am the Red Queen : ) I can’t wait!!

I am now following you from the hop and would love it if you could follow me back over at http://mizzreviewlady-mommyreviews.blogspot.com/
I look forward to reading more posts.
Thanks 🙂
Too bad we don’t live close, our boys would have a killer play date, even with the age difference! Connor hasn’t seen the 3D Lightning McQueen costume yet, but until he does, he wants to be one of his Pit-Crew! Everything is either Lightning McQueen, Thomas the Train, Buzz or Woody with him. Even his bedroom. 🙂
I haven’t decided any costumes on a halloween costume yet this year. Those costumes are all cute, angry birds and the cars. I think the cars costumes is fit for my son.
I am fairly certain that I have no say in what the costumes will be this year (which is fine since when I jokingly said “sack of potatoes” last year, that is what my son was), but will get to participate in the pulling together portion of the program. No word from Lady 11, but Dude14 and three friends are being the news team from the movie Anchorman!
I’m not ready for Halloween just yet. My kids on the other hand are thinking Batman villains, so I suppose I should start doing my research like you and not be caught the afternoon of October 31st with all the other lazy parents fighting for the last Joker costume at Party City. It’s scary. Not that it’s ever happened to me before.

Yep, I’m one of the people who knew that there are Angry Bird costumes. Pretty much there is a Halloween costume for everything, so it really was only a matter of time for these, I think.
This year my kids are crayons. I’m hoping for some good photo ops there as well. 🙂
My kids would DIE for that Angry Bird costume, PN is so lucky! Graham wants to be a knight and Elliot wants to be Princess Jasmine but I stupidly ordered the costumes a month ago and let them wear them around. Now they are piled up in the bottom of the toy box and forgotten about so I have a feeling we will be getting new costumes before October.
Hi Stacy, I think both of the costumes for your kids are cute! We don’t dress up anymore, usually I’m not home when trick or treating goes on here. One of the last times my husband and I dressed up was as the Mutant Ninja Turtles with another couple. Haha, yep, mid nineties. Thanks for the visit and follow, following you back via GFC.
I’m loving your page, and you’ve inspired me to start thinking about halloween costumes for my twins…oh the possibilities.
I found you via a hop, and I really hope you’ll have time to come by Tales of an Unlikely Mother, too. Following.

Sis & I were just browsing costumes online yesterday. She really liked the Eskimo Costume & the Minnie Mouse Costume but hasn’t quite decided on either yet. For Bub, I still get to pick his out! I found a really cute Elvis Costume, an adorable Monkey Costume & a super cute Spider Costume. Who knows though, last year he was a Tootsie Roll LOL!!!! I like your kids choices 🙂
Yes, the kids always dress up. This year they’re going to be Athena, an Autumn Fairy, and Minnie Mouse.
Thanks for stopping by Frugal Plus! I now Follow you via GFC 🙂

I LOVE Halloween and Trick-or-Treat!
I do not love dealing with costume making/purchasing.
This year Kid wants to be a Robot. Help. I really need to get on this because I also am a procrastinator and this one really isn’t going to work at the last minute. *Sigh*
Leo wants to dress up as Spiderman but he’s dressed up as a superhero the past 2 years and he’s been really into Power Rangers so I’m sure once we see the different costumes he’ll change his mind about 5 times.
I never dress up but the kids will. Emily is dressing up with her friends as dead prom girls…yep! Brad wants to be the Scream dude. Guess we are going to be all scary this year! 🙂
I love the Angry Birds costumes. It looks entertaining. Have a nice day!
