When I was going through my plethora of Princess Nagger picture folders looking for appropriate ones for my Spin Cycle post last week, I ran across pictures of Princess Nagger’s very first peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  We were visiting friends when PN was 27 months old, and she had not yet experienced her first PB&J sandwich.

Cheese sandwiches – yes.  But PB&J?  She just wasn’t interested.

That is until our friends kids (a 5-year old and a 30-month old) were getting ready to have lunch – they were so excited about it, she decided she wanted a PB&J, too.  apparently she decided it was a lot more fun to play with – you know, nice and ooey and gooey:

She wears it well, doesn’t she?

  1. I like to think that she is not just enjoying her food orally but also tactilely (yeah, so it’s a word, right?). I use to say that my kids were experiencing their food as a whole body sensual way. And I was okay with that.

  2. Oh that is the sweetest pb& j I have ever seen—thank goodness for the bib, as I am sure that really cut down on the cleanup 🙂

  3. PB&J is definitely more fun to play with than a cheese sandwich. There is no spreading in cheese :). I think she looks adorable. even covered in jelly (just that much sweeter).

  4. So stinking cute! Isn’t fun finding old photos like that? It makes you smile inside and out. PN looks the same. Her face hasn’t changed.
