It’s Monday, and we’re on vacation!  I know, I really shouldn’t rub it in, should I?  We’ve been having so much fun with my sister and her husband and my parents that the time is already flying by.  You know, since Saturday night.

It’s time for Monday’s Music Moves Me – and I am honored and privileged to have been asked to join our fearless leaders in hosting this shindig each week.  These first two weeks, though, since I’m trying to be a good house-guest and sister and daughter and not be glued to my laptop, I won’t be able to hop around and check out your songs as efficiently as I’d like to – but I’ll get around at some point.  Wait, that didn’t sound good, did it?

This week’s theme is Singers or Artists with one name – do you know how hard it is to remember them off the top of your head?  Of course the first name that popped in my head was P!nk – she is definitely one-of-a-kind, and her song Stupid Girls (warning – not appropriate for youngsters) is chuckle-inspiring:

Next up is another of my favorite single-named artists, Adele – and honestly, I hadn’t heard of her prior to seeing her featured on other Music Monday participants, but have been enthralled, and especially love her song Rolling In The Deep:

Can’t highlight one-named artists and leave Beyonce out, can we?  Her song, Rule The World (Girls) is a favorite, too – because Girls Rule, right?

As Princess Nagger would say, “Girls Rule!”  Sorry guys… Enjoy your Monday!

Run DMT also hosts Music Monday:

I usually participate in Music Monday, hosted by non other than the lovely Lady Java, but since I won’t be able to hop around today, I’m not linking up – I’ll resume after we get back from vacation, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go check it out and hop around to some great music!

I’m also joining another fun BlogHop – Meet Me Monday! If you’re a new follower, please leave your link so I can follow you back!

  1. Pink and Adele are big faves in my house. My 4-year-old daughter prefers Adele over all us while my 10-year-old son loves him some Pink. Great choices!

  2. Indy LOVES that song by Adele. He begged me for days to put it on his iPod. I finally did it just to shut him up, but now I hear hm singing it from his room all the time. 😉

  3. I love all of these! Great picks, mama!

Congrats on being selected to co-host! That’s because you ROCK! 🙂 And thanks for the MM shout-out.

  4. I, like you were not familiar at all with Adele until someone posted this very hit single of her’s. Yesterday, I downloaded two of her songs: Rolling in the Deep and Set Fire to Rain. She has a very unique voice.
Pink isn’t one of my favorites, but his video was pretty funny, though. That girl could be so pretty if she didn’t purposely wreck her appearance, don’t you think?
Beyounce is lovely and can sing, normally. This video doesn’t make a lot of sense to me and I personally don’t care for it. What’s wrong with me? But, girls do rule!!!! =D
Thanks for sharing and congrats on being XmasDolly’s newest Co-Conductor.

  5. My musical education continues. Beyonce is surely a beautifully talented woman, and Pink is also terribly multi-talented. Maybe women are taking over. haha Congrats on your new position. You couldn’t be in better company then with these people who run the 4M’s they’re all so very nice.

  6. We have the same name and similar music taste too Stacy 🙂 I picked Pink and Beyonce too! I also love Adele – she has an incredible voice!

    Great selection
