Christmas is fast approaching!  Do you have your Christmas shopping done?  I have a few things left to get, but since Princess Nagger is so easy to buy for, I’m all done for her…hubby is another story.  Hopefully I’ll find something he doesn’t already buy for himself – like the new GPS I was going to get, he ended up buying for himself just this past Friday.   Back to square one on the idea department!  But that will be another post for another day – since it’s only Monday, today’s Monday’s Music Moves Me gets the spotlight instead.  Even though it’s not quite December yet, I’m starting off with the Christmas theme for December, just because.

I love this time of year – and while I’m behind on pulling out the Christmas decor and getting the halls all decked out, at least I can enjoy some fun tunes to get the motivation going full speed ahead.   I decided to start off the Christmas themed month of December with ‘My Grown-Up Christmas List’ by Kelly Clarkson:

Here are the lyrics:

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I’m all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I’m not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
and wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

Well heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there’d be)

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up Christmas list

This is my grown up Christmas list.

Yep, that would be my grown-up Christmas List, too. Enjoy your Monday!

I love Christmas music! All the kids at work are going bonkers because our boss insists on playing Christmas music until the end of the year.

I have to keep telling John not to buy things for himself… then I forget what it is he was wanting!

  3. Congrats on your spotlight dance award.
I love this song and the words are great.
Thanks for posting a Christmas tune, cause that’s what I did too.

  5. Hi!
Please forgive me, I’m a little dense at times! LOL
I would love to join this, but I don’t fully understand. I love music, many genres so this is right up my alley!
I will take a look at the LinkyTools later.
I do have a blog, but not as extensive as yours & others I have briefly viewed this morning.
One thing I am unclear on is the themes? To the left of your page here or on YouTube?
Hope maybe you or someone has the time to answer these questions.
    Thanks!
    Have a good afternoon!

  6. gosh…where did that little angry face avatar come from? LOL
    I’m happy, not angry! 🙂

  7. I love love love Kelly..my daughter met her 4 times and each with a pic of them hugging…she is amazing..and great choice….Enjoy your day..!

  8. That is a great song, but I’m used to the Amy Grant version. 🙂
Sprite’s done for holiday shopping, but I’m most excited about John’s present. Not telling!

  9. OK! Stacy…I came back to say thanks again and to tell you how much your song choice blessed me! Believe it or not I had never heard that song! It’s wonderful! I turned around and shared it on my FB page and with others by e-mail.

I happened upon your blog Sunday when I Googled for information on Advent. I was raised Baptist, therefore I had no knowledge of any kind about the season of Advent until 2 or 3 years ago when I researched it myself. I now feel it’s sad and a bit of a shame that my particular faith did and does not teach or participate in such a beautiful season of services.

Since the year I learned about it, I have been sharing through an e-mail ministry God has given me and now also through the same ministry on Facebook. So…I don’t really believe in coincidences 🙂 and have no idea of what this/these connections might hold, but I do know there was a reason I was led here.

    God bless ya!
    Cindy
