Is it Tuesday already?  I’ve been so busy I’ve lost track of time.  At least I can thank Keely for putting me back on track seeing as how she leads the charge with Randomness on Tuesdays.

I’m happy to report that this view:

Has been replaced with this view instead:

Our new washing machine was successfully delivered on Saturday!  We don’t have the washer and dryer flush in the wall just yet, it seems the hole made for the old washer was made a tad bit crooked, so that 1/4-inch it’s off at the bottom is a problem.  We’ll have to widen that part of the wall, but we wanted to put the washer through it’s paces so hubby and I cut the drywall to make the hole taller (since the new washer is also taller than the old one) and he and I then lifted the dryer and put it into place.  When it’s not so hot up on that bathroom we’ll pull them out and widen the wall a smidge so they can be flush once again like before for more room.

But I’m just happy I no longer have to lug the laundry to the laundromat!  Plus, with it being as hot as it is, doing laundry was quite wilting hanging around for it to finish – at least now I can retreat to the air-conditioned living room while the washing machine works its magic.

Three Home Depot dudes delivered the washer – instead of the morning or afternoon window of delivery, they gave us a window between 11am and 1pm – dead center in the middle of the day.  Which threw a wrench in our previous plans for the day, but we went with it.

In fact, hubby finally paid attention to the hints I’d been dropping for months about the shed being inaccessible with his piles’o’stuff he kept adding and blocking my path to the holiday row.  Saturday morning he reorganized his jumble of stuff which allowed me access to my small section and I finally was able to get to the Christmas Tree box and take that sucker down!  I decided I just couldn’t keep it up until next Christmas like I had originally planned because it was just bugging me too much.  I’m actually surprised I was able to maintain my sanity while staring at the tree all this time.

Of course that also generated a major cleaning mode in my living room, considering I generally tackle that at the first of the year and was obviously delayed.  Which then sort of radiated out to the other neglected rooms that needed to be tamed.  I’m far from done, but at least I made a huge dent and soon I’ll be listing unnecessaries on eBay and making much needed trips to the Goodwill.

In between the storms we had over the weekend, Princess Nagger talked Dada into going to Lowe’s and finally picking up play sand for the sand box she got from Santa Christmas ’08:

Ignore the bare spots – the combination of the harsh winter and the busybody dogs did a number on areas of our grass.  I’ll be planting new grass soon – once I figure out how to keep the dogs from trampling all over it.  Princess Nagger had fun burying some dinosaur bones in the sand and pretended to be a Paleontologist.  She also said that Rolex was a living dinosaur as he hung out nearby keeping an eye on things:

Sunday there was quite the commotion across the way at the Fire Hall – turned out Neal and Gloria had a lot of friends that wanted to wish them a happy birthday:

I couldn’t fit everyone into the frame, but there were a lot of people there for Neal and Gloria:

They took pictures of me taking pictures of them – which should prove to be pretty scary since I was looking a bit bedraggled that day from cleaning and organizing and getting drywall dust on me when we cut the hole in the wall bigger to accommodate the new washer.  Someday someone will get a laugh over the crazy lady taking pictures in the memory book of Neal and Gloria.

And finally, the weekly shot of the pond:

The sky had kind of an eerie yellow tinge to it because I took this picture right before some wild thunderstorms rolled through.  One of these days I’ll get some good pictures of the actual thunderstorms when they happen before it gets dark instead of waiting until the sun goes down.

And that’s a wrap or this week!  Head over and visit Keely at The Un-Mom for some fun randomness and get your own Random on!

  1. I was confused on the first pic. Wondering why you would have so many machines. Good thing you explained in the text because I’d be up all night wondering.
Well it will be quicker now to get to that clean sheet smell.

  5. Congrats on the new home laundromat, I know I couldn’t live without my washer and dryer at home!

Looks like she’s enjoying the sandbox immensely and it’ll probably get a lot of use!

  6. oooohhhh I want your washer…
sounds kinky, but I totally do. Except, my washer is fine…so can’t justify getting a new one.

  7. The washer thing has been such a long time inconvenience. I am so glad for you that you have at least machines that work at home now and only a minor adjustment to fit them in all the way. Whew. Hugs to you for all your times of lugging the clothes to the laundromat. I would not have had the patience for that. Funny story about the huge birthday sign. Looks like quite a few people, hope that was fun for the birthday people.

  9. Congrats on the new washing machine! I can’t stand walking to the other end of the building to use my apartment’s washing machines, I couldn’t imagine dragging it all to the laundromat.

As usual you have some great pics. Love the ones of Princess Nagger and her sandbox, she looks like she’s having a blast.

  10. I too was confused and wondering why you would get rid of several machines for just one, lol.

Sandbox from ’08. Glad it’s filled before she doesn’t want to play in it anymore.

Do you know this Neal and Gloria?

Have you sold stuff on ebay lately? I used to sell stuff all the time (a couple years ago) but Hubster just recently started and it seems as though the amounts they’re charging are ridiculous. Maybe it’s just because he was selling more expensive stuff. I find giving it away gets it out of my house MUCH quicker:)

  12. Glad you finally got your washer up and running. Your daughter is adorable – the sand box is a great idea I think I need to get my mess loving daughter one. I can’t believe you are just now taking down your Christmas tree – hilarious!

  13. I love that bottom picture of Princess Nagger. The outfit just screams “summer is here whether the weather agrees or not!”

Congrats on the new laundry scenery. No more picking up cute guys in the laundramat, huh?

  14. Holy crap woman, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone waiting THAT long just to get a new washer. Thank goodness it’s there now and working fine!

What’s really funny about this post is that just this morning I was thinking about you and your damn Christmas tree. Thank goodness that’s out of the way. It’s been bothering me apparently! LOL

Too funny that it took two years to get poor PN some sand. She’s almost bigger than the sandbox now!

  16. Glad you got your new appliance!!! I know going to the laundromat got tedious! I had to drop in and see what Stacey and the Princess were up to today! She is so adorable and lucky to have such a great Mom! Have a great day tomorrow.

  17. Wait, do you know neal and gloria? If not, it makes it all that much funnier.

I think we have that same sandbox, is that the crabby one from Toys R Us? Elliot enjoys eating sand on a daily basis and then I get to clean it out of the other end. Eww.

  18. My cousin recommended this blog and she was totally right keep up the fantastic work!
