How’s this for speed control?
I don’t know about you, but this would slow me down!
People slow down and try to “straddle” the hole, then breathe a sigh of relief that they completely cleared it!
This is actually a speed control device that is in use in Canada.

Much cheaper than speed cameras.

Pretty clever, huh?  Especially if moved around each day.

Isn’t art wonderful?

I wonder if it contributes to any accidents… I think it might around here!

  1. LOL! That would certainly work on me! Smart! I bet that cost the city budget peanuts compared to pouring asphalt speed bumps! 😉

  2. I just popped over from Meggie's Musings. Your blog is such fun. The idea of these fake pot holes is hilarious.

  3. That's awesome! Although I can definitely see some crazy drivers wrecking because of them.

  4. Ha! being a crazy Canadian myself, I'd love to know what city thought that one up 🙂

I still like the idea of sitting in my car with a blow dryer pointed toward the traffic to see how many cars slow down 🙂

  5. The definitely look like potholes. Not sure it would slow me down since it would be too late by the time I was able to see it.

  6. Good Morning! Hmmm, how crazy is that. I too think that it might cause accidents in these parts!

  7. Michigan is the opposite! One street in my town has two speed bumps in one block- with the sign warning you placed past the bump! You hit them while reading the sign..

  8. Not sure if I like this one. I think it would cause more problems. It is a great idea but I am just not sure.

  13. That's hilarious, but that's what the highways usually look like after a few months of winter.

  14. I thought Big Foot had crashed in from the moon!

People really are so clever sometimes.

I'm so honored that you visited my blog. I've seen you around and heard you mentioned on other blogs and so it feels like I've just had contact with a blogging celebrity. So cool!

  15. That was totally hysterical, especially because I thought they were real potholes!
