I posted about the Tree Frog Incident on Friday, but saved the best picture for today’s Wordful/Wordless Wednesday post because I knew I was going to be dragging after driving for 2 days coming home, and we’ll be tackling the jungle that has grown since we’ve been gone. It’s good to be home!

This frog was really loud – we thought for sure it was going to be 4 times this size when we went looking for it. He put up with being held and photographed, but then hopped off into the night. We wondered if he would return the next night, and sure enough, we heard his croaking while we were sitting under the gazebo as the sun set in the distance. He was, however, croaking from a further distance – undoubtedly one encounter with the two-leggers was enough. Click on the picture to really appreciate the markings this frog has… 😉

  1. OMG that is a beautiful frog …at first i thought is was jewelled!

  2. what a beautiful picture–so clear and such a beautiful frog! They're amazing, how loud such little things can be.

  3. He is adorable. We had a frog/toad that I believe lived in the rain gutter over our lanai, each night as dusk approached the chirping would commence from the same corner of the roof!

You think he was loud, you should try hearing one that has been captured by your cat and brought into the house at 3am! Talk about SQUEALING! Not a good thing to wake up too~

  4. Guess it's not about the size of the frog, just the noise it makes! lol Cute pic!

  5. Oh boy, you know how much I love the froggies, and this picture is just incredible! Wow, I love it!
You should hear it here during the summer after a rainy day. You hear thousands singing. We mostly have the non-spotted green tree frogs and I love the noises they make.

    Justine 😮 )

  6. Cute little guy. Lots of frog stories the past few weeks. It must be their time of year!

  7. That is a spectacular photo. We had frogs in our backyard in OR and it always amazed me how such a little thing could make so much noise. Especially in the spring.

  8. Oh my gosh, that is so cool! I can't believe it let you hold it for a picture. Very cool!

  9. Love it! Frogs are cool. I never saw a tree frog up close. His legs are awesome.

    Happy WW!

  10. Eeeeeeeeeeeeek, I like to appreciate frogs from afar. Touching them, no thank you.

  11. I don't even know the last time I've seen a frog. They used to hang out in our backyard all the time when I was a kid but ever since then I don't think I've ever seen one. So sad to think my daughter will never experience little green things hopping around and croaking in our yard.
That is a great picture by the way!

  12. How very cool, I'm sure my boys would love to get their hands on one of those.
