While hanging out under the gazebo at our friends house in Louisiana, there were several dragonflies that would cavort around. Christy held out her finger and one happily landed:

Click on the images to see a better shot – I’m always amazed by their wings. Apparently if you have dragonflies in your area, that’s a good sign that the local water source is clean – they don’t like dirty water. Now that’s my kind of insect! 😉

  4. I love dragon flies. I never knew they came in all different colors till I moved up here. I will post my dragon fly picture Saturday! First one I saw here at the house all summer. It was a big one.

  6. I love dragonflies. They're one of the only insects I don't want to squash in to a greasy smear. Never seen one that bright green before. Very cool.
