So Hit40 thought I “threw down” on her ‘Geeked Out Sandwiches‘ post…but really, she started it! So today I had big plans of taking her up on her ‘throw down’ mode and doing a one-up with all the various types of sandwiches the Princess Nagger will request. ‘Types’ being cut into bizarre interesting shapes. Of course when she asks for a ‘Peanut Butter and Butter and Jelly’ sandwich, that might fall into a different category. Whatever.

Ahem.

Princess Nagger was onto me yesterday, though – when I generously offered to make her several sandwiches (you know, because I usually draw the line when she asks for more than two – usually when she’s in a growth spurt), she gave me a ‘look’…sideways glance with a huge smirk…that look. And politely declined any sandwiches for lunch. “No Thank You, Mama.” Yeah, now she decides to go with the ‘polite’ response instead of the snarky one. Because she knew. I’m guessing Hit40 got to her. Sent her some sort of telepathic message to make sure my Creative Sandwich War Post didn’t happen today. She’s that good.

Anywhoo…I did persuade coerce convince cajole the Princess Nagger into have at least one sandwich… Which she agreed to, as long as she could have ice cream for dessert…right out of the carton. The Little Negotiator. But I’ll save the final product for a special post on Monday. So yeah, you’ll have to wait. That way I can inundate the PN with ‘special’ sandwiches today and tomorrow. Because I can. Maybe. At least I can give you this little teaser of the ‘wiggle cut’ thingy I have:
Oh and in case any of you were wondering (and you know you were) about whether or not I was successful in getting the Princess Nagger signed up for Day Camp next week at the last minute? I was! So of course I’m doing a Happy Dance. Don’t look! ๐Ÿ˜‰ So my wine making escapades are on! Stay tuned for all the fun… ๐Ÿ™‚

Before you go…could you do me a huge favor? Would you pretty please stop by this post (Top 10 Reasons…) and leave a comment for me there? I would be forever in your debt…I really want to go to BlogHer 2010, so being one of fifteen winners for a $100 sponsorship would certainly be a step in the right direction! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have until Monday at midnight to collect lots of comments…so pretty please? *bats eyelashes*

I read about the sandwich challenge on Hit40's blog (I have to admit I was totally impressed by her gingerbread man sandwich … thats going to take some beating!) but I'm intrigued to see what you come up with, that pic was suitably tantalising!

So … may the best sandwich-maker win! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. This has become the sandwich that launched a thousand posts. That is a pretty cool cutter though.

  15. We only eat ice cream from the carton – I am totally incompetent with an ice cream scoop. I'm not kidding.

  16. ooohhh can't wait to see all the sandwiches ๐Ÿ™‚ love the wiggle cutter!! i need to get more creative with my kids sandwiches. everyday for school i send a sandwich, they must get board, ha ha

  17. Princess Nagger is a natural negotiator. LOL. Great post.

Going to Top 10 Reasons next. Good luck with the sponsorship.

  18. Those negotiating skills will take her far! We have a super cutter thing that is the right size for a slice of bread and it cuts two dinosaurs out of the bread cutting the crust off at the same time. The boys love it! I have also used it for making mini dino pizzas out of slices of bread. Everything tastes better if it's dino shaped:)

  19. Who knew making sandwiches could be so much fun and artistic? The wiggly-shaped cutter looks fantastic! I'm sure every kid would love sandwiches when these are cut in all sorts of shapes. Thanks!
