Jen over at Sprite’s Keeper promotes weekly fun with the Spin Cycle. This week’s topic is ‘Time’. My first thought about ‘Time’ is how fast time flies. Sure, it goes much faster in adulthood than it ever did in childhood. Everyone always said as you get older, time will fly by much faster.
Both my hubby and I didn’t see a lot of relevance to that even as we got older… Until we had the Princess Nagger. Suddenly, it seemed what everyone kept saying was true – time was flying by much faster. We figured out that it was because now we actually had something to ‘gauge’ time by – it seemed that in the blink of an eye our little blob of a baby was suddenly walking and talking. Each birthday marks another year gone by – 365 days…8750 hours…where does the time go? Now the Princess Nagger teases me and tells me not to blink because she’ll grow even more.
When I first heard Trace Adkin’s song, ‘You’re Gonna Miss This’, it struck a chord. So poignant and true. Time is a precious commodity – you can’t buy time, but you can certainly waste it. You can’t slow the hands of time, but you can make sure every minute, every moment counts.

So very, very true. When I think my “little one” will be going off to college in 5 years, it is anxiety inducing!
Love that song, too!

I would so love to be able to go back and do it all again. But it would probably still pass in the blink of an eye.
Your little blob has certainly turned into a beautiful and funny little girl!
Oh, she’s so beautiful! You’re right, absolutely. I feel like just yesterday, I brought home this little lump of child and was told to mold her into a person and I thought I had all the time in the world to do it. Then I blinked and here she is, talking back, kissing back, hugging back, loving back. I’m tearing up. Oy!
You’re linked and a wonderful Spin!
Ahh. One day it’ll be a photo of her at her wedding.
Good morning!
Checking in from sits. It’s FRIDAY!!!! Yay!!!
Have a great weekend.

I can so relate. I sometimes want to grab the clock and stop it — like that is going to freeze a moment in time. Ugh! I have so many thoughts on time and how fast it moves I couldn’t even get it into a Spin Cycle this week. Maybe later.
Great post and I love that song by Trace Atkins. Can’t listen to it much or I am in a pool of tears.
Enjoy the little ones every second, before you know it they are in their 30s. Yaaaaa
I dream about the TIME when they were little.
Time in a bottle, got any?
Like I keep telling you….
before you know it they become teenagers….
🙂
I vote for dancing in the rain or goofy stage!
Have you wished Julie a Happy Blogoversary today?
What are you waiting for?

My little girl is going to be 7 and I would love to go back in town.
Beautiful pictures 🙂 mine is 4 and there are days I wish I could go back…
LOVE the Dancing in the Rain picture. Time does fly when you’re havin fun huh?
Have a great weekend!!
Its amazing…last night…I stood at the edge of my sons bed. I remember how small he used to be. Now at 7 he stands on his bed, running, jumping into my open arms, a nightly event. Looking at him, it struck me, he stands taller than me now. It struck me that yes he was standing on his bed, however, it will be a matter of time before I am looking up to him. Great post.
As the parent of a second year college student, I can verify that it just keeps speeding up!!
Enjoy it, take lots of pictures and cuddle bunches!
When it’s not overplayed, that Trace Adkins song perfectly sums up how I feel about parenthood. When it first came out though, I wanted to gouge my eyes out every time I heard it since the stations played it so often!
Isn’t it amazing how quickly they grow. Every stage feels like forever and then is over in the blink of an eye.
Time certainly DOES go by fast, too fast! My baby is turning 3 next month and it feels like yesterday she was born!
Oh, she is so cute and I love her name: Princess Nagger! Love it! I am stopping by from SpritesKeeper! Great post and lovely pictures!
You know what they say… Time flies when you’re having fun!
Terrific spin!
she is adorable!! 😀
I try to savor every moment. I know they go so quickly. Your girl is precious.
Isn’t that why we blog? To save the many moments? 🙂
This is oh so true! Time did creep by when I was younger, but it seems that time is now determined by what size clothes my youngest is wearing, what size shoe my oldest is wearing (6-1/2 womens!) etc. Where did my little babies go?
Justine 😮 )
It’s so so true!!!! Time goes by too fast and the older I get the faster it goes. There is something wrong with that lOL
Time flies by in an instant. I was just telling Hubby how Baby Sister is already seven months old and even though I am with her everyday I already feel like I have missed so much. In my excitement to see her do more and more I wonder if I have taken the time to enjoy each stage the right way. Each moment. I don’t think I have.
