It took a while, but I finally downloaded all 9000+ email messages that were sitting in gmail…now I can designate specific folders and weed out the inconsequential messages from the important ones. What does that really mean? That I’ll be able to reply to comments and messages in a much more timely manner. Meanwhile, I’m still working on getting caught up sorting through all the original email messages, so you might get a reply from me that stems from something you sent a week or three ago – but I will get caught up, I’m bound and determined to! 😉
Speaking of getting caught up, Hovering Hubby’s schedule this week is actually conducive to me getting some major catch up done online – he’s covering for another instructor’s class at 7:30 each morning, so that means we’re up at 5:30 and he’s out the door by 6:30, giving me several glorious hours of quiet time before the Princess Nagger wakes up and it’s the hurry scurry to get her ready for school and onto her bus. So I’ll be tired and loopy this week, but I’ll be enjoying the quiet time and taking advantage of that to get some major blog-hopping done.
I was all set to get started this morning, even had a few blogs read and comments left first thing this morning. Then it happened. The power went out. While I was right in the middle of leaving a witty comment for someone. So much for getting a lot accomplished first thing this morning. And of course it happened only moments before I was going to get my second cup of coffee. I knew I should have done that when I was jonesin’ for it 10 minutes earlier.
Of course when the power came back on three hours later, there was something funky going on with my computer – I kept getting weird error messages from Google, blocking me from the blogs I was trying to visit within the 42 tabs I had open in my browser. Something about a bad cookie… So I had to spend hours running Spyware and scan with Norton to ‘fix’ the problem when it wasn’t fixed from doing a restore – looks like something funky happened when Windows did some automatic updates coupled with reinstalling iTunes on my computer. I definitely needed a cup of coffee after all that hassle.
Speaking of coffee, hubby loves his new coffee maker I got him for his birthday. So much so that he’s been drinking more coffee than usual when he’s home – and every time he marvels at how cool the coffee maker is and how great the coffee is. Score one for me in the gift department! Especially since I get to enjoy it equally well… 😉 Even Princess Nagger, the little busy body, helped herself to a cup of hot chocolate from the coffee maker. And a friend of hubby’s came over on Sunday to work on recording some music, and was thrilled with the hot tea that coffee maker can produce. So there ya go. It’s a hit! 😉
On another tangent, why is it that some people have to stop in front of the line when in the left turn lane? You know the line I’m talking about – where you should stop at or behind it to give better clearance for cars and trucks turning through the intersection. Today some moron held up 10 cars behind him because of being stopped in front of the line. When a big semi truck wanted to turn right, there wasn’t enough clearance…so you see other people stepping out of their vehicle motioning for the line of cars behind to back up so the moron could back up to where he was supposed to be in order for the truck to finish his turn and stop blocking the intersection. And of course that meant everyone missed that particular light cycle, at least those of us way in the back of that long line because of one dork.
Speaking of dorks, Princess Nagger is doing much better, thank you to everyone who has been checking in. Her fever hung around for a little over 3 days, but never spiked above 102.4, so she didn’t have to get dragged kicking and screaming taken to the doctor. She did, however, develop a lovely phlegmy cough, which is still hanging around, but not slowing her down.
Speaking of which, she normally sleeps in late…since she’s a self professed ‘non-morning’ person. Except Easter Sunday. She woke us up at 7:18 a.m. after hubby and I had been up until about 2:00 a.m. Of course I didn’t get a chance to put out her Easter Basket and hide the eggs Saturday night because she kept getting out of bed and we didn’t want to get busted. So I figured it was safe to wait until morning when she was still sleeping soundly as she tends to do. Except this time. I had to have hubby stall her upstairs while I raced down to put the Easter Basket on the coffee table and quickly hide 24 plastic Easter Eggs. I heard commotion at the top of the stairs as I had the last two eggs in my hand and the shopping bag in the other, so I quickly got rid of the evidence and all was well. whew!
Well that’s about all I have for today, which for some may be too much and they’re dozing on their keyboards right now… 😉 I was going to post pictures of the Princess Nagger and the Easter Eggs we decorated, but I’ll save that for the Wordless/Wordful post tomorrow. Meanwhile I’ll leave you with this bright spot of Spring – I had to take these pictures literally through the back door screen…if I had opened the door to get a clearer shot, this little guy would have flown away instantly. Still works for showing a nice spot of color in the middle of slowly budding foliage.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention – apparently it’s the ‘in’ thing to do to beg for votes – see those little vote icon thingies in my top right hand column? I would be forever in your debt if you would be so kind as to click on one or three of them and vote for me. And if you are nominated for any category, even the ones I’m in, please let me know so I can go over and vote for you, too!
Feeling Random? Well, you’re not alone. You can find all the cool Random People congregating over at Keely’s place. Her co-host is back with a passion – Kelly the Neurotic Mom at her new home, Baby Boogers. Head on over to both places and spread some Random love. You’ll thank me later. 😉
technology in general is wonderful… except when it won’t work! so nice to read your funny post and to start my day off with a smile! hope PN continues to improve!
woooohooooooo! I see Forsynthia!!!:)
I will most certainly go and vote for you. Coincidentally, I have a link up at the top of my current post where I could use a vote too! I’d love for you to check it out. :o)
That coffee maker looks like something out of the future. Too cool!
Power going out is the worst.
Good luck organizing the emails. I’m generally organized, but my email looks like a big junk draw.
Happy RTT!
I’m another non-morning person; yet here I am at 7:49 doing some blog commenting!!
BTW, I just voted for you in all your Blogger’s Choice categories. If you could throw me a couple of votes, too, I’d love it. I’m up for 3 categories, including Freakiest Blogger, but I only have 2 lowly votes 🙁 thanks!
Great that the Princess has gotten over that nasty bug!
carma
good luck getting through all of those emails! you’re ambitious. 🙂
Ugh, we had a wicked storm last night… tornado warnings left and right… and then the power went out. Ugh, it didn’t come on till 1 a.m., I got no sleep, the puppy was dry heaving, blah blah blah.
I’m glad you got the easter eggs hidden before PN got down the stairs!!!!! EEKS!!!! Jimmy always sets the alarm for really early in the morning to do that, then he goes back to bed. But, we also hide the baskets. Madison woke us up at 6:50, so I feel your pain!!!!!!1
Justine 😮 )
Btw… email me and tell me how much that coffee maker costs! I’m soooooooo curious!
I would kill for 7:18am. My daughter is usually stirring by 6:30, sometimes by 6. Ugh!!
Happy RTT!
That coffee maker is so cool. It almost makes me want one even though I don’t drink coffee. Glad PN is feeling better. We had some stalling to do Easter morning too!LOL!
I feel the same way about g-mail. Glad to hear your little one is feeling better. I have a sick one also. I love the coffee pot. The yellow is so pretty in your yard.
Happy Tuesday.
I really like my yahoo email account better than my gmail, but maybe it’s because I’ve had it for years and know all the ins and outs.
Nothing like Easter to make little ones go to sleep late and wake up early! We had the same thing happen at our house!
I’m not a big fan of gmail, mostly for the reasons you listed. And if you asked my kids, you’d get about 1098238 more cool points b/c I didn’t even do Easter baskets for them this year.
That coffee maker looks like it is so cool … and I don’t even drink coffee. I just like the lights.
And I finally figured out you can forward your gmail to your “real” e-mail. Quite helpful. Of course, I don’t have anything like 9000 emails. .. I hope you don’t crash the system.
Which leads me to the Murphy’s Law of Blogging: If you have free time to blog, something will always go wrong with your computer.
And the rest of your thoughts … I’ve forgotten. I’m bad like that one long posts.
Your coffee maker does hot chocolate and tea as well, that is by far the coolest gift ever. I’m jealous.
Congrats on the Spring getting, that little burst of green is quite a surprise.
Sounds like you have been enjoying some “Murphy’s law” over there. I do love the Cardinal and the Forsythia.
Now for some fun…
Tag your it! I filled your bucket and tagged you in a contest from Teaching Heart Mom. Go check it out.

every time i see that photo of your hubby’s new coffee maker, in all it’s glowing blue glory, it makes me want to run out and get one! maybe i’ll get one for mother’s day! woot!
I have 2000+ emails in gmail (and I’m still using 0% of my capacity – wtf, Google?).
And I still want that coffee maker.
It’s an unwritten rule that kids wake up at the crack of dawn on holidays. I always had to hide them the night before, no matter how late it was!
I don’t feel complete if things aren’t organized. LOL
Love the coffee maker — I need to get me one of those.
Glad to see she is feeling better.
Love the pictures, so pretty.
Thanks for sharing!
Coffee. What can I say? It allows us to do amazing random things and think amazing random thoughts! 🙂
Ok you got my votes! 🙂
that coffee maker is cool – I may steal your idea for a gift for my hubbie and i love the “Hovering Hubbie”!!
That spring picture is so cool.
We had a computer virus about two months and we had to do all the cleaning, spyware fighting to our computer. It was a pain in the caboose.
Today…According To Jim!!! Yay!!
That’s news to me about being able to add gmail to Outlook. That’s the only reason I’ve never gone to a free email. I like sorting them but I highly recommend using your delete key. That’s what I did and I feel so free!!
TOTALLY agree!! I hate it when people are behind the line in a left turn!! C’mon, lets get cozy and SCOOT *up*! But the town I live now has not one traffic light in the entire COUNTY!! HAHA!
We lost power for almost 2 hours yesterday. It’s the 6th time we’ve lost power since the ice storm in January. I cried.
I want to pull my hair out when people pull out like that. What makes me even more buggy is when people stop in the middle road to let people pull out in front of them. Now, I will do this if we are stopped at a light. I have NO problem doing this. But, I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would feel it would be appropriate to literally stop in the middle of the road to let someone else pull out while traffic is flowing. Grrr …
Gmail makes my eyes gloss over at times. I get more junk email through them than any other email service provider. And, like you said – it’s really hard/if not nearly impossible to sit and go through all of them. So, consequently, I have a love love relationship with my delete button.
Hope you have a great Tuesday girl!
You sure had a lot of random to discuss. That left turn thing bites.
Glad to hear Princess N is perking up and that hubby is perking coffee.
I can’t believe how much people didn’t like the js thing.
Hi and thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog! 🙂 And did you know that gmail allows you to add folders under “inbox” and you can organize all your emails to your heart’s content? And you can add labels that allow you to categorize your emails by label. Then you can sort them by label. And you can move said labeled emails into folders? I was frustrated with gmail for the very reasons you mentioned (I’m not OCD but I do need some organization) and when I researched it, I discovered the folder thing and the label thing. Yep. You can. 🙂
That coffee pot looks awesome but the last thing the world wants to see is me on more coffee. Now I will attempt to purge it from my memory.
I love RTT! And I LOVE your coffee pot!!!
P.S. Award over at my blog!
With all of the wonderful things that Google can do, why can’t gmail be a better thing? Gmail scares me so much I think I’ll never give up my AOL account 🙂
That looks like an awesome coffee maker! I’ve been looking around, trying to find one that would be a good gift for my husband–looks like you found it. It makes tea, too? Wow!
No second cup??? O M G
And if you ever get a virus try http://www.malwarebytes.com
It really worked for me, our techie recommends it. Happy Easter!
I really heart your coffee maker! I feel like I am in a trance with the lights.
Glad princess is feeling better.
Good save on Easter Mom! You rock!
Discombobulated is my favorite word. Am I weird because I have a favorite word? It wasn’t my favorite word until I visited your site today. So give yourself a pat on the back dollface:)
btw-voting for you, please vote for me:)
Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha
Your coffee maker is so snazzy (do people still use that word?). It would match my new washing machine. Glad you made it for Easter. Getting caught is the worst.
mmm…coffee!
Omigosh! I am from the Follower’s Club and I don’t think I’m following you! Ack!!!! How did this happen???? Off to fix that!
PS…..enjoyed your randomness today!
I love reading everything you have to say, every time I read it.
Blogger pulled that same “cookie” stunt on me yesterday and was slow as molasses all day. I finally threw the towel in and today it is fixed. Weird and very frustrating.
The power going out messes me up every time. Ours hasn’t gone out for a substantial amt of time for at least a couple of years but the last time it did, we had ten people over for a poker game and it was summer in FL so we were boiling without AC.
I need Outlook too, I HATE having all of my emails going into one inbox.
Nice save with the Easter bunny.
That is quite the space age coffee maker…I’llhave to settle for my $5 day-after-thanksgiving-special. Needs electricity anyhow! Hope the Princess is still getting better!!
My kids aren’t morning people either. Which I kind of enjoy, since I’m not either!
That coffee pot is so cool! I can see why your husband likes it.
That is a SWEET coffee maker! Woweee…and you sound like me with 80 million tabs open, my hubby always gets upset that the computer is running too slow when he needs to get on real quick…hehe.
Thanks for all the great comments, I am trying to be better about leaving them lol!
I’ve got the same issue with gmail. I don’t have nearly as many emails as you do, lol, but I’ve got about 1500 or so. They go back to January, I believe. I’m a bad commenter-backer…yup, just made that up. lol
That coffee pot looks FANTAB!! Some day I’ll have a better one than just the regular ole coffee pot/espresso maker, (that part, which I rarely use).
I *hate* it when the power goes out! It did that to me a few weeks ago and it was out for like 5 or 6 hours. I was going crazy!
Moronic drivers are one of my biggest pet peeves! If you don’t know how to drive, get off the road!
Haha PN was just too excited for the Easter Bunny to sleep in.
What kind of bird is that? A red robin? Too cool!
