March Snow:
The wind was blowing so hard, the snow was coming down sideways (hard to capture):

The neighbor’s dog making his daily visit to race back and forth play with Elvis:

The neighbor finally whistled for the return of his dog, and Elvis decided it was time to come in and warm up:
On a side note: The partial building you see in the foreground is the Summer House (also built in 1817) – it still has the original colors the house used to be painted, we’re planning on painting it this Summer to match the house (eggshell/cream with Hunter green trim and shutters). The tan building is a shed we had put up, and in the far background, behind my mom-van, is the original barn (also built in 1817). That will also get painted to match the house this summer. Our property extends out way back behind the barn and meets up with a farmers field. We call that back half of our yard ‘the back 40’ – I put up a greenhouse and planted a slew of grapevines for jams and jellies and most importantly, wine. ๐Ÿ™‚ Once the weather clears up, I’ll take detailed pictures of the Summer House for those that have been clamoring to see what it looks like… ๐Ÿ˜‰ Now, back to our regularly scheduled program…

I stopped Elvis at the back door – I always make him wipe his feet before coming in…he didn’t seem to appreciate the photo op:

The weather has been wacky this year – this snow fell 3 days after a 60+ degree day…we ultimately got 5-6 inches with this storm. The weather for this weekend is forecast at 65 degrees for Saturday’s high, and 69 for Sunday…generally it will be 5-10 degrees warmer than the ‘high’ they predict…crazy!!! But at least the Princess Nagger got her one day of ‘good’ snow to play in, so she’s happy! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. I woke up expecting snow on the ground this morning..but that didn’t help me accept it! I am sooo ready for spring!

  9. Hi Stacy.
How many dogs do you have?
    s
I’m sending you warm weather…hang in there.
    ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  10. The dog made me flashback to my old dog.s Grizzly looked just like that.
    s
It’s still crazy seeing all that snow.s It’s in the 80s here, in Houston, today.s I was trying to get my homegirl to bring her kids to the beach.s Since she won’t be able to, Dasha and I will probably just go the park… again.

Elvis is soooooooooooooo cute!s What kind of dog is he?
    s

  12. argh this thing is fighting back….I’m glad that Elvis (who is adorable) is having a great time in the snow….I know I’m sure not!

  13. Yayyy the open id worked!
    s
On that note, I will be stealing one Elvis from you please. TOO cute!!!

  14. LOL Alicia!s It’s cute until the neighbor dog gets Elvis all dirty and smelly… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. You’ll be happy to know that I did warm that puppy up…and then had him lay next to me on the couch to keep my feet warm! ๐Ÿ˜‰ s One of the major selling points about buying our house (besides the fact that it’s old and has lots of character) was the outbuildings… ๐Ÿ˜‰ s Sure! You can come stay in our Summer House – it would motivate us into converting the second floor of it into guest quarters like we eventually plan to do… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  16. They do make a great ‘buddy’ moment, don’t they? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  17. Thanks, Ginny Marie!s Our next house will be more ‘countrified’ – this one’s great, especially with the barn and Summer House and ‘back 40’, but we sit right on top of a busy road and across the street from a firehall…we often said that if we could, it would be cool to move the house to the back 40 so it’d be away from the busy road noise…LOL!s ๐Ÿ˜‰

  18. That’s what usually happens to us – we get warned about a lot of snow coming our way, and either it never shows up, or we get a dusting…so I was quite surprised that we actually got a decent amount this time around! ๐Ÿ˜‰ s Isn’t it CRAZY that it’s going to be so warm this weekend?s Mother Nature must be smoking something funny… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. I was really glad to get some of the pretty white stuff – I was getting tired of the drab muddy look we were sporting this winter…heh, heh!s But now that we got a day of good snow, I’m ready to bring on the Spring and do some planting! ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. We didn’t get much snow this year, so I was actually happy to get some this time…but now that we did, I’m ready for Spring! ๐Ÿ™‚ s Thanks so much for stopping by! ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. LOL!s Yeah, I guess ‘expecting’ it doesn’t necessarily mean ‘accepting’ it… ๐Ÿ˜‰ s Thanks so much for stopping by! ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. Thanks, Gena! It’s funny – when Elvis isn’t outside, I’ll see the neighbor dog sniffing around looking kind of forlorn that his buddy isn’t outside for him to play with… ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. We have 2 dogs – only the blonde one in the picture is ours…heh, heh!s You certainly are sending some warm weather our way! ๐Ÿ˜€

  24. Awwww!s Love the name Grizzly! ๐Ÿ™‚ s 80’s in Houston and your homegirl wasn’t coming to go to the beach?s Too bad we don’t live close – Princess Nagger would have been all over going to the beach! ๐Ÿ™‚ s Thanks for stopping by, Davida! ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. The new comment thingy seems to be working well… ๐Ÿ˜‰ s Elvis is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier – they are really smart, really cool dogs… ๐Ÿ˜€ s Although more often than not Elvis is a dork… ๐Ÿ˜‰
    s
You know, I actually haven’t posted a whole lot about this old house…I think I’m going to have to do just that!s LOL!s Yes, as a matter of fact, we do have ghosts…so I’m not looking at you funny…the ghost might be, though! ๐Ÿ˜‰ s I guess I’m going to have to get to work to create some posts to fill in those gaps, aren’t I?s Thanks for the ideas, Justine! ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Yeah, I guess snow would actually be rain if it’s 80, wouldn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜‰ s O:-) s

  27. LOL Nikki!s Not to worry – warm weather is imminent!s At least for the weekend… ๐Ÿ˜€

  28. They definitely do have fun – always out playing every day, rain or shine…or in this case, snow! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  29. LOL! I’ll be doing a little photo or video tour in the near future…once hubby gets some of his stuff cleaned up (like the 20 or so soda cans sitting over on his table…*snicker!*)
    s
The snow is almost just a pleasant memory already – only the parts that were plowed or shoveled into a pile are still present…but since it’s going to be 60 tomorrow and even warmer over the weekend, I’m hoping it dries everything up nicely so the muddy mess will disappear, too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  30. Oh good!s I was hoping OpenID would work! ๐Ÿ™‚
    s
Elvis is as lovable as he is cute – if you steal him, you won’t want to give him back! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  31. Thanks, Jenni! ๐Ÿ™‚ s
    s
I’ll have to work on those Summer House pics soon, won’t I?s I used to have a whole slew of them when we first moved in, but those are some of the pictures I lost when my hard drive crashed…so I need to take new ones.s I better get busy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. Love your snow pics. I am following you from MBC Follow Me. Pls follow back. ๐Ÿ™‚ sHave a great day.
    s

  33. Thanks Melodie!s I would love to check out your blog and follow you – can you send me your blog address? ๐Ÿ™‚ s Thanks for stopping by and following me! ๐Ÿ™‚

  34. Lovely pictures ๐Ÿ™‚ ssnow not so much LOL we just got some sun so I can’t even think of the snow LOL but what I can’t wait is to see more of that summer house ๐Ÿ™‚ s

  35. LOL Stacy. that is how my neighbor’s dog and mine are! They are BEST
friends. He is actually in our backyard now because he keeps getting out of
    his pen!

  36. Oh, Stacy…will this madness never end?s Blogger is so very evil, and look how kind and generous you are being through it all.s Posting a reply comment for each and everyscomment that you receive.s You are a saint among bloggers!
    s
All I had really wanted to say is that I liked your pictures of the snow and how I am a tiny bit jealous.s ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. I love the summer house, I so want one of my own.s
    s
I can’t wait for the warm weather.s I am so tired of cold and snow.s It looks like Elvis had fun with it.

  38. Love the pics!s We’ve had some crazy weather here lately too.s Yesterday it was torrential downpour with hail and snow in some parts of the state.s And you used to live here so I think you’ll know the distance of this, but it was snowing in Belligham, but not in Marysville / Lake Stevens / Snohomish!
    s
Glad the Princess got her snow day! =D

  39. We did!s It was great – nice powdery snow, too…so Princess Nagger got the one day of ‘good’ snow she’s been wanting…now it’s 70+ degrees today…crazy! ๐Ÿ™‚ s Thanks so much for stopping by, Kristen! ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. LOL!s You’ve definitely seen a lot of snow this winter, haven’t you, Firefly? ๐Ÿ™‚ s I’ll definitely be posting pictures of the Summer House during the Spring or Summer months… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  41. Bless your heart, Francesca!s Thank you so much!s
    s
San Francisco is beautiful without snow… ๐Ÿ˜‰ s I’d tell you to come on out and play in the snow, but it’s gone already…swtiched over to 70+ degree weather today…Mother Nature has been wacko this year! ๐Ÿ˜‰ s Thanks so much for stopping by! ๐Ÿ™‚
