Quotable Sunday – Patience

Toni, from A Daily Dose of Toni has this great weekly ritual of posting Favorite Quotes – the quotes that people come up with are very inspiring, so if you haven’t had a chance to check out Quotable Sunday, now’s your chance! ๐Ÿ˜‰ This week my patience has been tested greatly…you’ll notice that I reverted back to the standard Google comments because the JS-Kits one was too annoying for some of my readers…and I want to make sure everyone is happy, so I got rid of it…but at a price.
Somehow Blogger misplaced all the wonderful comments left on my posts throughout the past week – so before I could revert back to the standard comment mode, I needed to somehow salvage all the wonderful words that were posted. So I created image files and linked them to each post so they’d still be available for viewing. Which if course set me back ten fold on my blog-hopping and catching up…and sleep…but at least now the standard comment mode will have the easy links to your blogs so I can hop over for a visit without making you leave me a link. So at least there’s that. ๐Ÿ™‚ Without further ado, here are the quotes for the week:

“Patience and fortitude conquer all things.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“One minute of patience, ten years of peace.” Greek proverb

“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow – that is patience.” Unknown

“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” Saint Augustine

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

“He that can have Patience, can have what he will.” Benjamin Franklin

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau

“God bestows upon one man genius without patience and upon another man patience without genius. The relative achievements of the two are often surprising.” Walter C. Klein

“There are three secrets to managing. The first secret is have patience. The second is be patient. And the third most important secret is patience.” Chuck Tanner

“Patience is a necessary ingredient of genius.” Benjamin Disraeli

“I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.” Margaret Thatcher

Update 9:42 am: I had to add one more quote, because one of my bloggy buddies, Frogs in my Formula triggered a memory… ๐Ÿ˜‰

“Patience is a virtue…but some days I just don’t feel virtuous…” Stacy

About Stacy (the Random Cool Chick)

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance and I chose to become a SAHM and WAHM - I love every minute of it. We added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension to our family. We have an eclectic mix of pets: dogs, cats, birds and fish. I love to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, I take on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. My favorite, of course, is making my own wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway. I blog about the joys of parenting, family, friends, life, love and anything else that strikes my fancy. I do enjoy doing reviews and giveaways for products I use, believe in and can stand behind.

  1. These are nice quotes but I can’t lie–when I hear the word patience I immediately think of all the times my father told me “patience is learning to wait without complaining” when I was a kid–and I realize I’d be happy if I never heard the word again! LOL.

  2. I must admit I’m not as patient as I should be. Thank you for the reminder, though.

    And my fave patience quote:

“All we need is just a little patience…” ~ Axl Rose

  3. Oh happy days! JS Kit is GONE!!!!!!!!! Good riddance, you pain in my ass! I shall not miss you one bit!!!

  4. I can’t believe that happened to your comments. That sucks. At least your comment didn’t get monkeyed with. This is why I don’t touch my blog without setting up an altar and praying to the bloggy gods…

  5. And I forgot to say that I love me some GNR… All we need is a little patience””… Classic ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Sorry to hear about the comment problem, blogger can be a challenge! Love the Chuck Tanner quote, my dad used to tell us that all the time. Love the picture too, it looks like she is peeing over your post!

  7. I love love love the Margaret Thatcher quote!! They are all great though!! Happy QS!

  8. “One minute of patience, ten years of peace.”
Hehe… not quite sure what that means, can you enlighten me?

Does it mean that by keeping your patience and not flipping out/ causing conflict, you get the peace as a result?

  9. Aw, Rachel, you took the words right out of my bloggy mouth!! LOL! That’s MY fave patience quote!!

  10. Oh I would have died if I lost all my comments! And yay! You changed your comment approach! The last way always took me a good 5 minutes to load and have the comment go through and I would sometimes give up and not even comment. Sorry!

“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow – that is patience.” Unknown

I like that one. It reminds me of my life right now and I think that’s why I’m bored. I’ve done everything I can with adoption and fertility, now all I can do is wait and it’s boring.

  11. Oh, I’m laughing with this one…

“I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end.” Margaret Thatcher

    Love it, happy Sunday!

  12. Ahhhh, I wish I had lots of patience!

  13. I have to admit that I really like the addition at the last minute. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Plus, I like the patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

Good ones and good riddance to JS-Kits! ๐Ÿ˜‰
