Who doesn’t like smooth, sexy legs? I was asked to try out the Smooth Away product and write a review. I was a bit skeptical of this product at first, because I had the impression you were pretty much using sand-paper in a fancy holder to ‘rub away’ unwanted hair. I was wrong. I’m so glad I was wrong – I really wasn’t interested in torturing myself just to shave my legs! πŸ˜‰

The kit consists of one large and one small applicator, 5 large and 5 small flex-crystals pads, and a travel case. When you look at the pads, you still have the idea that you’re looking at sand paper. But you’re not. So then I went in the opposite direction – I was skeptical that what felt like a simple rubber pad would actually remove hair. Again I was wrong.

I attached the pad to the large applicator (I was, after all, going to tackle my legs to really get a good idea on how this really works). The Princess Nagger wanted to help – she thought it looked like fun, so I figured she might as well, because if a 6-year old can do it, then anyone can! πŸ˜‰ Amazingly enough, with 3 clockwise circles and 3 counter-clockwise circles, the hair magically disappears. No pulling, no pinching, no razor burn… Of course I have light blonde hair on my legs, and since this is winter time and my legs are glowingly white, I had to double check to make sure the hair was gone. I was impressed with how smooth this simple little pad made my legs – and to top it off, it was exfoliating the dead skin at the same time!

The best part of this product is that it’s quick and easy – I usually shave my legs in the shower, but sometimes when I’m in a hurry I simply don’t have time. Or the Princess Nagger is interrupting me. Or any number of reasons, which is why in the wintertime I don’t bother to shave as much since I’m not wearing shorts or capris, and my hubby hasn’t complained yet! πŸ˜‰

The kit also contained a tube of ‘Hair Inhibitor Moisturizer’ – you apply that after you use the pads to moisturize your freshly exfoliated skin and it restores moistures plus has a built-in hair inhibitor to reduce the number of times you need to ‘shave’ your legs. I don’t know about you, but the winter months wreak havoc on my skin with dry skin – particularly my legs. This moisturizer was great, has a pleasant smell (hardly there, and definitely not over-bearing), and was not greasy or oily to apply.

Smooth Away does do as they claim – Removes Hair Instantly and Pain Free. I was pleasantly surprised.

  1. I’ve never heard of Smooth Away but it sounds fabulous! I don’t usually bother to shave much during the Winter, either. LOL. And then I went to a GNO where we did pedicures and I was horrified when I had to roll up my pant legs!

  2. @Lolli: I had never heard of them before, either – so I was REALLY skeptical when they sent me the product to try… Very impressive! πŸ™‚ Ohhhh, I would be in the same boat as you if, during the winter, I were to be amongst a group of friends to get a pedicure… LOL!!! Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

@Vodka Mom: AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Leave it to you to think of laxatives…(snicker!) But it does make sense! πŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  3. I’m curious about this now – stuff like this I find doesn’t often work. I think I’ve used some of those sandpapery things before you see.
Happy Valentines day, and hope you haven’t got a virtual hangover from VGNO!

  4. @Nicole: Thanks, Nicole! I do recommend it – I was pleasantly surprised! πŸ™‚

@Jess: I was 100% skeptical about this when I got it…I thought there was absolutely no way this would work…boy was I surprised! I remember the first time I tried Nair – I could not get that smell out of my nose! And never used that stuff again… This is so much better – not messy, the area you’re removing hair needs to be dry and clean…no problem there! πŸ˜‰ So it makes it so much more convenient than even my electric razor I keep charged up for ’emergencies’…LOL!!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Luckily no Virtual Hangover from the VGNO…heh, heh! πŸ˜‰

@Yaya: LOL Alicia! That was my first reaction when I got this… πŸ˜‰
