Welcome to this week’s Edition of Aloha Friday.
“In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.”
My question for this week is:
Do you have a specific day that you do NOT blog?
For instance, do you only blog during the week and never on the weekends? Or do you blog every day of the week? For me, I blog every day…7 days a week. But that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m writing something every day – if I have time, I’ll try to plan ahead. That’s why I really appreciate some of the meme’s I participate in, like Wordless Wednesday – I can get that blog post all ready to go and have it scheduled to post so I don’t necessarily have to be online when it happens. I find that doing so gives me a little leeway so I don’t feel chained to my computer.
I’m trying to be more consistent with ‘planning ahead’ so I don’t end up posting something in a rush and at the last minute. Some weeks can be a little dicey – like this past week with the Princess Nagger’s 6-year molar crisis, and Hovering Hubby’s sinus infection and him being home more. 😉 ‘Crisis’ and ‘Hovering’ tend to limit my quality time online which also limits my ability to blog-hop and visit my favorite blogs. I usually play ‘catch up’ on the weekends for my blog-hopping, so I’ll end up commenting on previous posts from earlier in the week. 🙂
Happy Aloha Friday!
I try to blog daily, sometimes I don’t have anything blog worthy, but then thats what I get creative. Ha! Ha!
We try to blog most days, but do slack off a bit on the weekends. Usually Sundays are the day we work on our Mental Defective Monday posts.
i usually blog daily – at least daily – as you have probably noticed. sometimes i blog two or three times a day … sometimes… like when im sick… i dont blog at all. but it’s become one of my healthier – i hope – addictions!
I try to have something posted every day. I do have a few memes I participate in that I schedule ahead of time and then if I am not around or whatever I know something is already up. And sometimes I write something and don’t publish it right away. I save it for when I am too busy to get to blogging. Great question. 🙂
I blog every weekday ,but I take the weekends off. I will usually post a picture or something on the weekend. I find I have a lot less visitors on the weekends, since most of my readers are moms, who probably aren’t on their computers as much as they are during the week.
I try to blog daily BUT when I know I have plans and cant get on I will compose a blog the night before.
I try to blog every op I get!
I blog at least once a day. Just can’t keep my thoughts to myself. Sometimes, I’ll even post from my phone. Now, that’s addiction for ya!
I’m always READING Blogs every day, but posting just depends on what’s going on ~ no schedule! (P.S. ~ I’m fairly new to Blogging and still haven’t figured it all out, but learning all the time – ha!)
I am a daily girl, currently!
There isn’t a specific day, but days that I travel for work I usually don’t get a chance to blog. And sometimes on busy weekends I don’t have time either. OR, when I get HACKED! LOL
No, but I need to make one or two days a week that I stay away from the computer because it sucks me in!
I am trying for at least five days a week but, lately with all the sickness I feel so behind!
I’m working on writing Mon. Weds and Fri., but it’s a work in progress. I feel like writing on the weekends a lot when I should be choosing to do other things!
I don’t usually blog on the weekends…because my husband is home.. ect..
I typically blog the night before and do this almost every day. Sometimes I can get a few days ready, but not too often.
I blog daily. However, if I had to miss a day it would be Sundays.
I blog pretty much every day.
I try to blog daily, but have been having trouble lately. There is a lot going on around here and I haven’t been in an upbeat mood which makes it hard to be entertaining.
I never know my work schedule from one week to the next. So some days blogging isn’t possible…but it’s never the same day every week. I know one thing…now that American Idol has started…if I’m working those two days and can’t blog during the day…ain’t no blogging getting done either night…it’s really screwing me up but I can’t miss that show lol
I try to blog daily, but you never know! That’s the trouble with kids, your day to day life can surprise you!
I don’t have a certain day that I don’t, but most of the time I don’t on the weekend because we are always doing something and not at home.
I don’t even get on the computer on Tuesdays because it is so crazy between work and then adoption class. But other then that I’m online most days checking out blogs.
I blog when I can – or when I have something to blog…sometimes it is two or three a day and then not for awhile. Just like the rest of my life and very random!
I try to blog daily, o figure out what I’m going to do for tomorrow as it will be a busy day. I would love to get ahead and have a couple of days worth of scheduled posts!
It use to be the weekends, but now I blog sometimes on Saturday but never really on Sunday
@Emily: Isn’t that funny how ‘inspiration’ works? Just when you think you don’t have anything to blog about, something happens or you hear a funny antidote and there’s the perfect blog post! 😉 Thanks for stopping by, Emily! 🙂
@Elle: Those times that you guys ‘slack off’ give me time to catch up on your other posts…(grin!!!) Love your Mental Defective Monday posts! 😉
@annie kelleher: I do the same…daily, sometimes several times a day when I have a lot going on. 😉 I like the idea of looking at it as a ‘healthy addiction’ – good one, Annie! 🙂
@Upstatemomof3: Thanks for reminding me – I, too, have a bunch of ‘drafts’ waiting for attention…heh, heh!! 🙂 Some of the meme’s make it easier to ensure there’s something up every day! 😉
@Beth: Good point, Beth! It’s always good to take a day off for a ‘mental break’, too. I see a lot less traffic on the weekends, too – particularly on Saturday, so I use that day to play ‘catch up’ on awards, or to post a funny I got in my email. 🙂
@Jenn@mylifewiththecrazies: Perfect, Jenn! That’s kinda what I do, too – great minds and all that jazz! 😉
@East Coast Wahine: LOL! Now that’s dedication! 😉
@I am Harriet: LOL Harriet! Yep, I would say posting from your phone qualifies as a true addiction…(grin!!!)
@OLLIE MCKAY’S ~ A Chic Boutique: I hear ya – I’m always READING constantly…love reading all the cool blogs out there… 🙂 I’m still learning and figuring it all out myself too, so you’re not alone! You’ll get the hang of it, no problem! 😉
@Jenni Jiggety: I like that ‘currently’ part… 😉
@*Just Jen*: I can see how traveling for work would interfere with your blog time…(grin!) And there are times when life simply gets in the way, so that hinders that time, too…you got hacked? UGH! You poor thing! That woudl suck royally!
@One Anxious Mommy: LOL! It does suck you in, doesn’t it? Sometimes I purposefully close my laptop and walk away for a few hours…only to find myself thinking about what I need to do and get done…so I’m back at it…LOL! 🙂
@On The Verge: Oh, I hear ya, Lydia – having anyone sick in the household really takes up your time and energy – and for you, having a whole houseful including yourself…so easy to get behind, that’s for sure! Hope you all are feeling better SOON! 🙂
@Margo: That’s exactly how I started – ONLY posting Mon/Wed/Fri…then I started adding a day here and there…and next thing you know, I’m posting 7 days a week! LOL!! Isn’t it funny how you ‘feel’ like writing when you should be choosing to do other things…you know, like cleaning the house…heh, heh! 😉
@Tara: I do find my time is more limited (or should I say ‘interrupted’?) when hubby’s home. I’m lucky I can blog on the weekends because we’re still hanging out together – he’s usually doing his own thing on his computer, so I don’t feel so guilty monopolizing my time on my computer! 😉
@TheAngelForever: Oh, I’m hoping to get to that point – so I’m not scrambling the ‘morning of’ to put something together…one of these days I’ll be that organized! I hope… 😉
@kailani: Sundays off makes sense. For me, though, I participate in the Quotable Sunday with Toni, so those I try to make sure I have done in advance just in case I do need a ‘day off’. Although I’ve been doing a weekly segment on Sundays, so until that’s wrapped up, I’m committed to posting on Sunday. 🙂
@Sage and Savvy: I’m really behind catching up on your daily posts! I’ll have to get busy… 😉
@Anne: Awww, I can understand that, Anne! It’s hard to blog when your heart isn’t in the moment. I’ve found that if I’m having a bad day and blog about it, I end up feeling better because I’ve sort of had a chance to ‘vent’ to no one in particular, and the icing on the cake is getting some very nice comments that turn into a wonderful virtual hug! 🙂
@nikkicrumpet: LOL Nikki! I hear ya about focusing on American Idol! I’m watching it like a hawk, too! 😉
@Mama Krit: Oh, I totally agree – it’s never a dull moment with kids around! 😉
@♥Mrs. V: Seems to be the ‘trend’ in the blogosphere…weekend traffic is always much lower anyway, because people are doing something in ‘real life’! 😉
@Yaya: That’s very smart to not even get on the computer on your busiest day ever… 🙂
@Joyful Noise: LOL! Random works! 🙂
@Sarah: I’m trying to get to that point, too – having a couple of posts already finished and ready to go beforehand. On the days I post multiple posts, maybe I should be saving them for alternate days…(grin!!)
@Tena: I was the same way – never on the weekends. Until Toni started the ‘Quotable Sunday’ thing, and I like participating in that…so Saturday’s are either my ‘catch up’ days or ‘filler’ days…just to have something posted for the day! 😉
Thank you all for stopping by! I’m trying to get caught up, so please bear with me – I’ll be stopping by your blogs during the next week for sure to return the comment love! 😉
