We finally made it home with our newest addition to the family! We had been tossing around names for a while, both hubby and I wanted to name him Travis (hubby wants to nickname him ‘Travis Tripplehorn’…don’t ask! *grin!*) and the Princess Nagger wanted to name him Max (from the Dark Cloud PS2 games – which is really Maximilian, but we figured Maxwell would be better easier). So we decided to give him a mouthful of names – after all, he’ll be smart enough to answer to all of them, Elvis, our Wheaten comes to ‘Dork Dog’, ‘Bubba Jones’, and ‘Smelvis’…(snicker!)

The trip down to West Virginia was uneventful – the GPS took us on a scenic route on the way, so we got to see some cool sights in the mountains (like a frozen stream, and lots of trees down in the woods from a recent wind storm). Princess Nagger was a peach on the long drive, hubby and I joked about having left the baby at home…of course she piped up from the back seat “I am not a baby!” (grin!)

Per the breeder’s instructions, we introduced him first to his new cage with food and water…he seemed to be comfy right off the bat:

What a cute little face!

His eyes each have a splash of blue color to them – we’re curious to see if it becomes more enhanced, or fades away…pretty cool right now! πŸ˜‰

Princess Nagger loves the new puppy – her first comment was “He’s lighter than I thought he would be!” (as in weight)

Elvis seems to be afraid of Travis – he tried to hide in his normal ‘safe’ place, under the dining room table, and seemed a bit miffed that Travis followed him under there anyway!

He discovered that Travis can’t climb the steps yet, so he retreated partway up the steps to get away from the persistent little puppy:

He’s giving me ‘the look’…

Norman also seems quite put out by the energetic new addition, but he’ll get used to him in no time:

Of course I had to have my cuddle time…

He stuck his cold nose on my neck trying to burrow under my hair!

So far he seems to be adapting quite well, and will have Elvis and Norman following him around in no time, taking command of the household… πŸ˜‰

  3. whatta sweet lil guy!!!s when we brought our puppy buddy home at nine weeks, my other dog, sam, gave me this “look” at one point, when he was being particularly irksome, that said, clearly as anything “did i ask you for this?”s it was so so funny… but now they love each other lots!

  11. LOL!s That’s too funny, Annie!s Elvis, our Wheaten, is already starting to warm up to Travis – he actually wagged his peanut stub of a tail a few times today when they were inspecting each other.s The Little Princess has been having a ball playing with Travis, making her chase her all over the place – she’s been wearing that poor boy out he’s been falling asleep during his meal times! LOL!!s

  15. He is amazing looking, isn’t he? πŸ˜‰ s So far so good on his ‘baby days’…he’s left my shoes alone so far, and he’s been really good about finding the WeeWee pad (I just crack up every time I see the box…they’re actually called WeeWee pads!!) and doing his business on them…s We’ve got it right by the back door, so when Mother Nature gives us some better weather (as in not so freaking cold) it’ll be a snap to get him going totally outside.s He has to get a little bigger before we can train him on the invisible fence, too… πŸ˜‰ s So it’s WeeWee pads to the rescue! πŸ˜€

It is a cool comment box, isn’t it?s The only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t put automatic links to the commenting people – which seem odd, since JS-Kits coordinates comments with Blogger (and others, since they’ve taken over a few other comment modes…)s but they’re apparently working on it…I’ve been a squeaky wheel over there since I lost a ton of comments left a couple of weeks ago…the engineers are working on some glitch.s But for the most part I love it, because I am able to do a direct reply to each and every comment! πŸ˜€

  16. Thanks, Chris!s He is a really cool color – his coloring will get more enhanced as he loses his baby fur and gets his adult fur in… πŸ˜‰ s He’s just so cuddly and sweet! πŸ™‚ s Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ˜€

  17. They are sweet tempered and easy to train, aren’t they?s So smart!!s He’s already got the WeeWee pads down…runs from wherever he is and does business on it, rather than just stop and going where he’s at – like most puppies do.s So it’ll be an easy transition from the WeeWee pads to the great outdoors when the time comes! πŸ˜‰ s

Thanks so much for stopping by, Keely! πŸ˜€

  18. Thanks, Kelleye! He does have beautiful markings and color – he’s going to be gorgeous when he gets older!s Not that he’s not gorgeous now, but he sure is a cute little ball-o-cuddly-fur! πŸ˜‰ s

    s
Thanks so much for stopping by! πŸ˜€

  25. He is a Blue Merle Sheltie (aka Shetland Sheepdog).s The ‘Blue Merle’ part is the potential blue eyes, as well as the grayish blue coloring and black markings, vs. the earthtones.s In some light the grayish blue looks more blue, it’s really cool! πŸ™‚
    s
Thanks for asking, and for stopping by! πŸ˜€
