Wow. Tomorrow is December 1st. Where in the world did 2008 go? Only one more month until the New Year, only 25 days until Christmas – 24 if you’re like me and you celebrate on Christmas Eve vs. through Christmas Day…a Swedish thing. But I like celebrating on Christmas Eve, because then you get to have a longer Christmas and spread it out over 2 days instead of just one.

Oh, who am I kidding? The entire month of December is a celebratory month of Christmas! Well, except for any last-minute shopping, which at the rate I’m going I’ll have plenty of. I don’t relish being ensconced in a major crowd of equally stressed shoppers looking for that perfect gift for that special someone. I try to do most of my shopping online, getting things delivered right to my door is always so much more convenient, but there are some people I can’t just click’n’buy for, I have to go and look at things to get ‘inspired’ to buy them something that pertains to them. I’m one of those annoying people that tries to be creative and get something that reminds me of that particular person, rather than a generic gift.

My daughter is ultra excited about getting the Christmas decorations up…though I haven’t even pulled the boxes out yet, and still have to take down the Fall decorations. But fighting this idiotic sinus infection has set me back a bit, so she’s just going to have to be patient a little while longer. On top of that, it was cold and rainy with mixed snow/sleet all day today, so there’s no way I would have been able to get the 20 or so boxes of Christmas decorations from the shed to the house in that – particularly with not feeling well. She does, however, get to open the first little door on the Advent Calendar I finally found – (the kind with chocolate, yum!) – tomorrow. So at least there’s that! I had to search high and low – when we were visiting my brother and his wife in Seattle last year, they had gotten their twins those chocolate Advent Calendars, so of course my Little Princess wanted one for this year. I looked at no less than 5 different places before I finally found one, huge sigh of relief that it was something I didn’t have to order online – the shipping alone would have been equal to getting 8 more of ’em! 🙂

Aside from getting the furniture moved back into their appropriate places today from Thanksgiving, I haven’t done much else besides lurk on Twitter, check out my favorite blogs, and update my websites (SassyDesigns and Savannah*Haven), my blog and Twitter with Christmas themes. Tomorrow is another day – it’s supposed to be yet another cold rainy day mixed with some sleet and snow, so aside from going out to do the first half of my grocery shopping, I’m gonna be sticking close to home! 😉 I’m excited there’s a new Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters episodes tonight – I’m DVR-ing them, so I’ll be watching those in the a.m. with my morning coffee…can’t wait!
