It’s time once again for Monday’s Music Moves Me – this week’s theme is Songs from the Year You Were Born, but since I couldn’t find any that I really liked from my birth year, I decided to break the rules just a smidge and pick ones that I love from Princess Nagger’s birth year instead.  You’ll thank me later, trust me.

First up is Shania Twain, with the first single released from her 2002 album Up!, “I’m Gonna Getcha Good”:

Next up is Emerson Drive, with a song from their very first major-label debut album released in 2002, “Fall Into Me”:

We can’t leave out the Dixie Chicks with their 2002 cover of Fleetwood Mac‘s Landslide:

Last but not least, is a song that Martina McBride released in October 2001 that became her fifth and last No. 1 single on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles & Tracks in March 2002, “Blessed“:

I concur – I too have been Blessed.  Enjoy your Monday!

Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:

  1. Now I really like Shania Twain. I haven’t heard her in a very long time though. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day!

  2. Oh the difference 5 years makes. I looked up the songs in the year my son was born (’07) and decided I didn’t like that many. LOL. Anyway, I stuck to my birth year, thereby giving away my age too. Oh well! happy Friday.

  3. This reminded me of when my older daughter was born. She was my first so I spent a lot of time in the beginning watching MTV (I couldn’t concentrate on anything since I was getting no sleep). Every once in a while a song will come on the radio that reminds me of that time.

  4. Shania is one of my favorites! The Dixie Chicks did a great job with Landslide. Martina does put it all in perspective, what a beautiful song.

  5. I’m really starting to like the Dixie Chicks a lot. Shania Twain I haven’t seen in forever. A lot of her songs don’t even sound like country. Anyways great choices. Love the Post you put together. Hmmm Maybe that should be another theme songs from the year our children were born. Let me know what you think.

  6. Shania Twain and Martina McBride are two of my favorite country female vocalists. Love both of these picks! Thanks for visiting my blog. =D

  7. Nice played…..very nice played. Why didn’t I think about sacrificing my children in the name of music, lol.

Love you choices…..especially Shania….Princess Nagger shares a birth year with Little Peanut

  8. I was listening to Landslide yesterday too (by Stevie Nicks) and I was staring at my 8-month old and getting all nostalgic… that was the song that was playing when my major contractions started when I was in labor with him.

    It’s an awesome song 🙂

BTW I found you through Mom Blog Monday. Clicked on you, loved your title and subtitle, and got hooked by your songs. 🙂
