Hello Monday – I don’t know about you, but I really need weekends to be a little longer. At least next weekend we’ll have an extra day, though I have planned a busy weekend, so that extra day will definitely be needed. Since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, will you?

Let’s start with this American pop band who released a new song whose video was inspired by a late night artistic inspiration by one of the band members:

“One night in 2022, I stayed up until sunrise making a flipbook of crappy little sketches on notebook paper to convey this story I’d just seen in my mind’s eye. the idea would only work, though, if we asked our audience to contribute their own imaginations to the project.”

They did just that – they asked their fans to to submit their drawings for the video:

“Our music video for [this song] came together thanks to an awesome team, some wild late night ideas, and beautiful art created by our fans.

We received hundreds of submissions – beautiful and frightening, creative, emotional artworks of unique Giants. we could only use a handful for the animation, but they would represent the imagination of the fanbase and the somewhat intense meaning of the lyric, which the fans clearly understood in their own unique ways. it took months longer than expected but we’re so proud of the result… and we wish we could do a whole feature-length film involving everyone’s drawings.”

Next up is a new song from this favorite artist that could potentially a great wedding song.

Kaleidoscope love, yeah, that is you and me / Forever changing, we make life interesting / Some days, we’re red and some days, we both think green / But I like the nights when we leave the canvas free

With this song, the artist departs from his signature plucky love songs and embarks on a journey of personal growth and transformation. With poignant lyrics, he embraces the notion that love is a multifaceted, ever-changing entity, akin to the intricate patterns and shifting colors within a kaleidoscope. Despite its dynamic nature, he finds beauty in its ever-evolving tapestry of emotions and experiences.

In January 2019, the artist tied the knot with his former secondary school classmate, and as he continues to grow older and deepen his connection in marriage, he discovers a profound truth: love is a constantly evolving force. Drawing inspiration from his parents’ enduring relationship, he recognizes that love transforms over time. It transcends its initial form, taking on various shades and dimensions, much like a vibrant spectrum of colors. He said:

“It is not what it is at the start, but that doesn’t make it… It evolves into these different things, and it’s different ‘colors. You’re in love with people for the ‘bright red fire’ or the really ‘chilled blue’ or just pure f—ing anger. There’s many layers, and I find love is colours. To be truly in love, I guess, you have to be colourblind at some points.”

Next up, this favorite artist often draws from a personal place with his music, and this new song is no different. He is again using his wife Laney as inspiration for the track that proclaims all that matters in life is that he has her love. The song solidifies Laney as his biggest fan, the one who hears his songs before the rest of the world does, the singer vowing that should his time in the spotlight be over, he’s always grateful for his family’s love and support.

When my 15 minutes ends / And the world loves me a little less / I hope you know that you’re the only one / I was trying to impress / If I sold out Bryant-Denny / Made my sweet home so proud / All I ever cared about, all I ever cared about was your face in the crowd

The video shows clips from his live shows, including one of his family doing the “Fancy Like” dance onstage.

Last, but certainly not least, is a new upbeat song that is quintessentially this artist with nods to a deer stand, Lucchese cowboy boots, and, of course, beer. The lyrics find the singer as a man who was just broken up with. But rather than being sad, the artist has the comfort of a cold one to keep him company.

But I got a beer in my hand / And I got it raised up high / I ain’t got a give in my damn right / I can do this all night / Country done came to town / This town don’t stand a chance … Feelin’ this high, wasn’t part of my plan / Wasn’t even gonna try / But I got a beer in my hand

He said:

“I knew I wanted a fun up-tempo song everyone could enjoy this summer. I can’t wait to start doing it live. It’s gonna be a blast.

Your new summer anthem has arrived. This town doesn’t stand a chance with this one.”

  4. Walk on the Moon was an imaginative video, and I enjoyed the song. I think it was my favorite of the set, although Colourblind was a close second. I never was a huge Ed Sheeran fan but I am liking him more and more with his recent music.
