Daylight Saving Time is Coming with Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

March has arrived, and while we (hopefully) won’t be getting (much) snow this week, it sure has been cold and windy! The dogs don’t seem to like it when the wind blows so much when they’re outside doing their duty. Or maybe it’s me that doesn’t like the wind blowing so much when I’m outside with them while they do their duty. Something cool happened though – planets aligned:

Isn’t that cool? Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn in perfect alignment. And it’s that time of year again – don’t forget to change your clocks this weekend as we once again lose our precious hour. I’ve never been a fan of Daylight Saving Time – I wish they’d leave it on Standard Time year ’round, though those that are they are trying to make DST a permanent thing.

Apparently they tried that here in the Pacific Northwest back in the 70s for a couple of years, but it failed miserably from what I’ve read, hence the return to Standard Time again.

While yes, it does tend to get dark early in the winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s really not that bad in my opinion. The thing that drives me crazy is how late it’s light during the summer months – do I need it to be blazing sunshine at 10pm? No. No I do not.

And the fact that they extended Daylight Saving Time by 2 extra months – that really annoys me. My internal clock doesn’t recalibrate until we get our hour back, so that means an extra two months of non-calibrated internal clock. Not cool.
