Hello Tuesday – and hello August! Remember I mentioned last week we were entering another heatwave here in the Pacific Northwest? Well, it’s been ongoing for the entire week. A full week of too much heat, people!

Multiple days of “97, feels like 105” … make it stop! While in the grand scheme of things, that’s way better than the ‘heat dome’ we experienced last year, where the ‘feels like’ temps hit 142. Either way you slice it, it’s too dang hot when you don’t have air conditioning in your house! Gonna need to rectify that by next summer for sure, since it seems to be becoming more and more of an issue each passing year.

Thankful for the window A/Cs in the bedroom windows, or sleep would have been even more elusive than it’s been. It’s been taking a long time for my core temp to finally cool off enough to fall asleep, so needless to say, a week of pretty much sleepless nights are taking its toll. Looks like starting today (Tuesday) we’ll have a mini break of only getting into the 80’s for a high, that 10-degree difference will be a mini relief. Thursday looks like the best coolest day – predicted high temp of only 75 before it ramps back up to the 90s again by the end of the weekend.

Of course, like most locations that will change again. You know what those that are they say – if you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes!

Thursday marks the 19^th anniversary of the hubby and me – together since 1997, married since 2003. We attended a 50^th anniversary party over the weekend at a fabulous winery – one of the hubby’s band members and his wife had a lovely gathering. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures they had placed around the event space – it was fun seeing all the ‘vintage’ looks in all the pics.

The hubster and I haven’t talked about what we want to do to celebrate our not-quite-a-milestone, I’m sure we’ll come up with something. Meanwhile I had fun buying fun/unique gifts for him for our anniversary. He mentioned recently he’s in need of new T-shirts (and likes unique graphic ones) I was happy to stumble across this one for him:

Isn’t that funny? He’ll appreciate the whimsy. Of course, I also got him some other cool gifts, but I’ll hold off sharing those on the rare off-chance that he might see this post before the 4^th. 😉

Since the heat seems to be affecting my brain (heh, yeah, I hear ya there in the back – my brain was affected long before the heat wave…mwahahaha!) we’ll just jump right into the funnies, shall we?
