So last week was one heck of a week! First, remember we woke up Monday morning to 3+ inches of SNOW and no power:

Tuesday was a mix of snow, sleet, rain and hail, then Wednesday, Mother Nature’s April Fool’s joke continued:

Luckily this second round also only lasted a day, power stayed on and school was in session. Later in the day (as well as Thursday and Friday) Mother Nature gave us the gamut of wet snow, sleet and marble sized hail. The weather sure had been bonafide crazy! I was beginning to think this would be our Easter:

Then, Wednesday while I was trying to get caught up from the no power Monday, my computer decided to crash. Hard. I kept trying every trick in the book to get it to boot up again, but no luck, and finally had to reinstall windows. That of course meant having to reinstall all my software that is necessary to do my work. While it was still functioning Wednesday night, and in between installing all my software, I started hunting for a replacement laptop.

I haven’t really had this one long – purchased in July 2020, so I expected to have quite a number of years of use before it would be time for an upgrade. Interestingly enough, it didn’t start acting wonky until I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Widows 11. That’s a decision I’m regretting for sure. And of course they only give you 10 days to revert back, and the issues didn’t happen until after the 10 day window.

Thursday it seemed to be working OK, just a smidge wonky, but I was getting things done, and looked forward to being all caught up on Friday, just in time for the weekend.

Murphy and his Law had other plans.

Friday morning, as I was getting ready for my first zoom meeting of the day, my computer crashed again. I had to text my morning meeting peeps to reschedule to Monday, as I was pretty much dead in the water with a dead computer. I spent the rest of the day working on getting my computer up and running again, especially since I had a virtual Executive Board Meeting I couldn’t miss on Saturday.

Finally got it back to functioning just before dinnertime on Friday, successfully attended the board meeting on Saturday, when it once again crashed and burned just before dinner on Saturday.

I had a feeling I wasn’t out of the woods on Friday after I got it running again, so I doubled my efforts on finding a replacement. Found one that had the desirable specs that wouldn’t empty my bank account, and bonus – it could be delivered on Monday. Hopefully by the time you’re reading this my new laptop has arrived and is all set up, and the urge to throw this one out the window has passed. 😉

And with that, let’s jump to the funnies, m’kay? This cracked me up:

  1. I feel like my computer is about to give up on me, too! Loved your funnies especially easter eggs and Neil Armstrong’s dog! And I also have to turn the music down to see better during bad weather! LOL

  2. Sorry to hear about the laptop, i hope the new one lasts a lot longer.

    Thanks for the funnies!

  3. I’ve hesitated to install Windows 11. I don’t even know if my almost 10 year old laptop (although some of the components have been updated in the past year) will accept the upgrade. I will learn from your experience. We got our February order of snow (the heavy, gloppy kind) Monday night into Tuesday here in the Southern Tier of New York and our county still has over 30,000 people without power (including my son). They’ve had to open warming shelters in various libraries, schools, etc. and several towns are under boil water orders. Trees down everywhere. Your pictures are so pretty but I wish our snow had been virtual. Your funnies were most appreciated!
