Final Tuesday of March; Internet Delight (finally); Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

Final Tuesday of March – what a month it’s been, eh? I have great news – remember how my modem died and left me high and dry with no internet for at least a week, then CenturyLink sent me their current ‘top-of-the-line’ modem that was waaaaaay worse than the now dead modem?

Well, after several weeks of peekaboo internet, and running speed tests only to find out that on a good day my download speeds were 6.89 Mbps and upload speeds were – get this – 0.22 Mbps, immediately followed by 4.something Mbps download and 0.0 Mbps upload – that was the straw the broke the camel’s back. I mean, what the heck was I paying them too much money for? The joy of frustration? 

Someone on our tiny town’s Facebook page had sung the praises of Verizon Internet for home – so I scoped them out, and not only will it be about $50 per month less than CenturyLink, but the speeds were promising… got the modem last week, and whoa! Wish I had found them earlier! So far the speeds have been steady at 50+ Mbps download and between 5-7 Mbps upload speed. HUGE difference.

It’s been nice having zoom meetings without the screen freezing, or getting that “Your internet connection is unstable” or simply getting kicked off because the internet cut out completely. And since I edit videos for one of my clients weekly (which means downloading them first, then uploading them after edit) that process has been way better as well, obviously. So. Much. Better.

Now maybe I’ll get caught up with work stuff and blog stuff – finally!

So Friday is April 1st – you know, April Fool’s Day. I miss the days when my oldest was a young whippersnapper and loved to plot and plan pranks to play on my hubby – might have to see if there’s renewed interest this year, I think it’s time for some fun pranks! Though this is valid:
