Work Overload Continues; Final Teen Birthday for oldest kid; Random Funnies – Random Tuesday Thoughts

You’ll be happy to know I logged a few less hours last week than the week prior – you know, 9-1/2 hours less… so still way more than ‘normal’, considering I’m only supposed to technically be working part time vs. full time (and 48.75 hours last week is like double part time…), but I’m OK with the extra hours, especially as the holidays arrive things will slow way down, which will give me a chance to regain some semblance of sanity.

I see you in the back snickering about my sanity… 😉

So yesterday was the birthday of my oldest (formerly known as Princess Nagger) – can you believe the final teen birthday, 19?! I know I can’t. We decided to do our tradition of breakfast at Denny’s followed by thrift store on Sunday instead of yesterday, so we could take our time, and I hadn’t made plans to take the day off work since a certain someone was originally supposed to be out of town, but plans changed at the last minute.

We had a great time in spite of the constant rain – we both found some awesome treasures. I even snagged an antique portable sewing machine from 1900 that had a handwritten note from the original owner attached to it. I’ll have to share pics next week, I didn’t want to carry it from the car to the house in a downpour, so I’ll bring it in when we get a break from the later today (Tuesday).

Let’s move on to the funnies, shall we? I haven’t picked up chocolate advent calendars yet, because this would so be me:

A friend of mine posted this pic on Facebook – I love it:

About StacyUncorked

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Stacy was surprised when Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance - deciding to forgo the career and stay home was a no-brainer. As if her hands weren't full enough, 8 years later she and her husband added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension (of crazy) to their family and even more sleepless nights. When she’s not refereeing kids, dogs and cats, she loves to write, hence the reason she decided to start her little blog, and because she never got a baby book to mark milestones, this was the next best thing. She also enjoys doing reviews and giveaways for products she or her family would willingly use and can stand behind. She loves to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, she takes on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. Her favorite, of course, is making her award winning wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway.

  1. Stacy,

First up, Happy Birthday to your once little princess. Okay, she’ll always be your little princess, if you’re like me anyhow as that’s the way I still view my daughters. Your funnies were great this morning, especially the ship shipping ship. All I can say is someone has too much time on his/her hands to come up with that tongue twister but cleverly done none the less. lol

  2. Not snickering about your sanity, but about the idea of having less to do during the holidays. The bosses have less to do, not necessarily the rest of us.

Wishing many happy returns of the day to the birthday girl!

Thanks for the laughs, i needed those.
