OK, who pressed the fast-forward button and sped us up to Thanksgiving week? That was fast! I absolutely love this time of year, so I’m OK with whomever pressed the fast-forward button. 😉

Of course I’m still up to my eyeballs with work – trying to cram as much in as possible these few days leading up to Thanksgiving so I can actually take a full 4-day weekend to relax. Relax? What’s that?

We have a new fridge being delivered on Saturday, so naturally Friday will be rife with cleaning out the other fridges, figuring out how to move the fridge in the mudroom out to the hubby’s man-cave in the garage so we can move the current fridge in the kitchen to the mudroom so the new fridge can take it’s rightful place. I’m hoping that the day the fridge merry-go-round takes place it’s not raining cats and dogs.

Three fridges, you ask? I wanted to get rid of the one in the mudroom that came with the house, but the hubby says he needs it in his man cave. He offered to take the fridge that’s currently in the kitchen, but it’s much nicer than the one in the mudroom, so of course that’s a no – if he insists on keeping both, he gets the lesser of the two…only fair, right?

The one currently in the kitchen is the one I got from Maytag back in 2012 when we were still living in Pennsylvania – it still works, I still love it, but it has a leaking issue that happens when it builds up a layer of ice below the freezer drawer. We’re constantly mopping up water that in and of itself isn’t a problem, the problem is that the water has made its way to the edge of the dining room and ruined several of the boards of our wood floors. Since it won’t be hooked up to water in the mudroom, it’ll be the perfect mudroom fridge, and we can look into getting the dining room floor repaired.

I’m hoping, since our house was built in 1930, that the people we bought the house from (who were ‘flippers’ and did all the updates throughout the house) simply covered up the original wood floors with the new bamboo flooring… I’m hoping the original floors weren’t destroyed in the upgrade process so we can return the dining room and living room floors to their former 1930 glory. I’ll keep you posted!

Do you have some awesome plans for Thanksgiving this year? We didn’t go anywhere last year, you know, because of covid. This year we’re descending on my mom’s house to actually enjoy a small but mighty family gathering. I’m looking forward to it.

I saw this idea posted recently – cover a table or counter surface with butcher paper, then write on it what the different dishes are for a Thanksgiving buffet-type dinner:

I wish I would have thought of that when we were hosting 15 people in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving – it’s genius!

Let’s move on to the funnies, shall we? Speaking of Thanksgiving, this cracked me up:

  1. I am descending on my sister’s house this year, and so looking forward to a great meal and a fun parade on TV. Your funnies… totally cracked me up today! The Wookie! The mannequin (seems like something I’d do) and the cemetery pun. Those made me literally laugh aloud. Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Heeheehee! You always find such fun stuff.

We’re going to Grandma’s as usual, in fact, i’ll be there two days for cooking and cleaning.

Have a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving!

  3. Stacy,

Someone sure did hit the fast forward button. I love this time of year, but seriously it’s going by way too fast! Great funnies. I like the one about the two ways to die and I was wondering can I keep my scales set back year round? 😀

    1. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! May the Lord bless you and yours this day and always. I’m grateful for our friendship. It has meant so much to me, more than I can ever say. Enjoy your time gathered with friends and family. XOXO
