Monday has arrived, and Monday means music – this week is a freebie week, so feel free to grab your favorite tune(s) and come dance with us, won’t you?

Let’s start with the sixth single from this group’s fifth studio album, that premiered on August 27, 2021, accompanied by a music video directed by Miles Cable and Isaac Rentz. The former said:

“Working on this video with [this group] was a wild ride. It all started with a concept that AJ (Favicchio) and I wrote to take us to Alaska, but one thing led to another and the creative had to be shifted with minimal time on the clock. We went back to the drawing board and reworked the concept to live around the unknown coastal destination we see now.”

Give a listen to OneRepublic with “Someday”:

Next up, this artist surprised fans with the release of a brand new music video for this song on Friday, August 20th.

The track finds the East Tennessee native reveling over the magnificent beauty of the world that surrounds us and the little moments in life that can sometimes be taken for granted. From the “blue sky days you don’t wanna miss,” to the “Jukebox dances and girls to kiss,” the artist is soaking up everything that life has to offer.

It’s a big old beautiful world out there / Sometimes you just gotta let it take you where / The roller coaster ride meets the tilt-a-whirl / It’s a big old beautiful world

The track embodies not only what’s important to the artist, but also brings his dedicated fan base to mind. He was quoted as saying:

“There’s so much wonder out in the world, so many things that can take your breath away right in front of you. Like the faces of No Shoes Nation, I see every time I’m on that stage – or just traveling around – that happiness and passion? It inspires me.”

“I was thinking about that feeling, thinking about how I could maybe capture it – and give it back to the people, and it hit me: show them some of the best days of my life out on the water. The beauty, the easy way the sun hangs in the sky and the water just goes on and on? It makes you happy just to see it. So from me to No Shoes Nation, until we’re together again, take this video and remember, it really is a beautiful world.”

Here’s Kenny Chesney with “Beautiful World”:

Next up, this country artist married a fellow country singer in October 2017, but the couple went their separate ways 32 months later. The artist unpacks the contrasting emotions that come with moving on after the divorce.

During the chorus, she says she’s “justified” in her disparate feelings towards her former husband, as he didn’t treat her right. On the bridge she switches the lyric and admits some responsibility in their marital breakdown, wishing she’d treated him better.

The record comprises 15 songs she wrote during the pandemic in which she ruminates on the raw emotions exposed by her divorce.

Here’s Kacey Musgraves with “Justified”:

Last, but certainly not least, is another fun video from the loveable family. I’m looking forward to decorating for fall – usually I start sometime in September, to try to have everything done by October 1st. Since I typically don’t do a lot of Halloween-specific decor, it serves as the perfect decor through Thanksgiving, when I’ll switch it out for Christmas.

Since I’m battling covid symptoms, I’m lacking the energy needed to dig through the basement storage to pull out my fall decor, but like this video shows, we’ve also been having hotter-than-normal days here in the Pacific Northwest, so motivation has also been a tad slow on the upswing.

At least I have time – my goal is to have the decor set up by the first of October, so between now and then, things will hopefully have cooled off, and my energy and mojo will have returned. 😉

Without further ado, here’s the Holderness Family with “Fall Or Nothing” – O-Town Parody:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday! See you on the dance floor!

  1. There are some excellent songs here. I really like the One Republic tune. Kenny Chesney is fully involved in the Margaritaville lifestyle and the song reflects his laid back point of view. Kacey Musgraves gives us a look into the raw emotions of divorce and comes to the correct conclusion that it takes two to make a successful marriage and two to tear one apart. Marriage is hard work and I honestly don’t see how some entertainers make it work with their competing schedules.

  2. Stacy,

I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing Covid symptoms. Were you exposed to the virus or did you get the vaccination? Which ever it is, saying prayers that you feel well again soon. It’s never fun being sick. Thanks for hitting the dance floor. You’re such a trooper, my friend. Sending love and hugs to you. Have a boogietastic week!!

  3. Please, take it easy, rest, and feel better soon! The decorations will wait, you come first. Nice selection of songs, and Kacey has it right – healing doesn’t come in a straight line.
