First Tuesday of September! Those of you who have read me for a while know that fall is my all-time favorite season. Love the sunny but crisp days, and the leaves turning vibrant colors.

I just realized that as of yesterday, this blog has been around for 13 years! First post was on September 6, 2008. How crazy is that? Some of you may remember when it was ‘Stacy’s Random Thoughts’ and I used to be on Blogger before switching to self-hosted and holding a vote for a new name.

Prior to joining the fun on Blogger, I had actually been doing a sort of blog on MySpace (OK, I did just giggle as I typed that – anyone else used to be on MySpace?!) and so my first post for Stacy’s Random Thoughts, posted on September 6, 2008 was from the flood we had on June 3, 2007.

The next several posts I migrated over from my other blog at TV.com that were about saving the show Journeyman – I’m still in touch with the virtual friends I made during that time. It’s amazing how the internet can connect and bring people together, isn’t it?

I even created a Save Journeyman website (which isn’t functioning properly right now, because back in 2008 I was using Adobe Flash for the menu…I need to update all my websites, as I believe they’re all sporting flash menus. Ooops!)

But here’s the page that has the gift baskets I sent to several Journeyman executives if you feel like checking out the extent I went to try to save a favorite show…heh! I actually just ran across the thank you note that the creator of Journeyman, Kevin Falls, sent me when I sent him a customized Journeyman gift basket. Still warms my heart!

2008 was a great year, apparently – while I started my winemaking venture in 2006, 2008 was the first year I entered the International Winemaker’s Competition – and won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals on the three of the four bottles of wine I’d submitted, with the fourth bottle receiving honorable mention with notes of what to improve.

That was about a year-and-a-half from when I made my very first batch of wine, that turned out to be wine vinegar, so winning medals for my wine was not only validation that I was doing something right, but further lit the fire for that particular passion. It was then that I also started making homemade kahlua annually for Christmas gift baskets for friends and family.

That’s probably enough time spent time traveling down memory lane – though I could go on and on and on. I did finally get my covid test results, and they’re positive, so I’ve been quarantined for the past week. Thankfully I’ve only been experiencing 7 of the 11 symptoms, the thing that’s been bugging me the most is the killer headache – but since I’m vaccinated, it shouldn’t be too long before I’m feeling 100% again. The hubby is already on the upswing, so that’s encouraging to me as well (he’s also vaccinated, and tested positive a week before I did).

At any rate, I’m fighting fatigue at the moment, so let’s jump into the funnies, shall we?
