Here we are, the second Tuesday of the new year… or is it actually December 43, 2020? I rarely (if ever) talk religion or politics here on my blog, but I of course have to mention the riots that took place last week at our beloved Capitol. It’s kind of embarrassing to be an American at the moment – I can’t imagine what our friends across the pond think of all that’s been going on.

I also feel bad for President-elect Biden, the traditional Inauguration day coming up next week is tainted by the shenanigans that have been going on, and I suspect will continue leading up to that particular day, too. My hubby commented that Biden will end up being known as the President who has to fix everything when he’s in office.

Regardless of what party you associate with (either or neither), what went down last week was totally uncool. Not to mention the innocent people who lost their lives… for what, exactly?

And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

I did find this hilarious, though:

Last week I mentioned the crazy interaction with a UPS customer service person – that  ultimately was a complete waste of time, as I finally got hold of my sister, and thankfully had put her (correct) email address on both labels, so she was able to supply me with the tracking number that was missing from my dashboard in my UPS account. You’ll be happy to know that both packages arrived safe and sound at my sister’s house last Friday.

I did connect with the tech people at UPS to find out why one of the two labels didn’t (and still don’t) show up in my UPS account, but they’re just as flummoxed as I am. Apparently it will remain a mystery forever! But when I ship anything through them in the future, I’ll know to save a PDF copy of the label first, just so I have the info I’ll need in case it happens again. Because you know it will.

We’re having a very mild winter here in the Pacific Northwest this year – I have a feeling that we probably won’t see any snow this year. I love snow, so that’s a disappointment for sure, especially when this was just two years ago in February:

So much better than rain, rain, rain, like we’ve been getting so far this year – snow always makes things prettier. Unless you have to drive in it, that is – Washington State isn’t that well equipped for snowy days, except up in the mountains of course. But hey, no one’s going anywhere, so this would literally be the perfect year for snow! I’ll still hold out hope…

I think now is the perfect time to move on to the funnies, don’t you? This cracked me up:

  1. You are braver than I when it comes to posting politics. I just can’t do it, no matter how strongly I feel about an issue. We actually got snow here in Texas yesterday and today. Not where I am, but about 50 miles north and on. Love the funnies! comatoast! Planes! water broke! And super-angry! I think any man who tried that would be either dead or in divorce court! LOL Have a great week!

    1. You got snow in Texas? Can you send some my way, please? We’re having a really mild winter thus far – my roses still haven’t gone to sleep, and other plants already have buds on them! I worry when the freezing temperatures finally hit they’ll be shocked. Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!

    1. I always love the dog and cat ones best! Glad to assist in the giggle department, Cathy – thanks so much for playing along! 🙂 Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend!

  2. I decided I didn’t need Twitter or for that matter Reddit or Pinterest. I feel much better now for having gotten rid of them.

I’ve seen the one about the planes and have to agree. What happened to the days when you dressed halfway decent to travel? At least something in between a suit and tie (or a dress and stockings for a woman) and showing up in your underwear…

    1. I’m right there with you, John – I’m rarely on Twitter or Pinterest, and haven’t been active on Reddit in *years*. Yes! What did happen to the days when you dressed halfway decent to travel? I still dress up on the rare occasion I do travel, just my own personal preference.

  3. I don’t post politics on Facebook and (rarely) on my blog. As far as politics, I’ll say only that our country is entering a very sad time. I think we are close to a civil war but only time will tell. I’ve seen the memes about the dogs and the password (and yes, I’m your people) but a lot of the others are new to me. My favorite was the airplane one.

    1. Very sad time indeed! It does feel like we’re on the brink of a civil war – here’s hoping that doesn’t end up happening. Yay! I knew you were my people! 😉 The airplane one definitely cracked me up – so much hope for what airline travel could be based on its beginnings…way off from that for sure! 😀
