Never Be Sorry for Settling Down, let’s Own This Town and Live For Now!

Monday has arrived, and you know what that means, don’t you? Time for some music! This week is a freebie week, so grab your favorite tune(s), and come dance with us, won’t you? Let’s get this party started!

Let’s start with a song that’s a happy spin on love gone wrong:

Sometimes two people end up victims of love / It don’t work out like you planned it / Just ’cause we couldn’t get the stars to line up / Don’t mean we leave empty-handed

On of the artists was quoted as saying:

“Ending a relationship can be hard and frustrating, but this song reminds you not to forget you loved that person – and you shouldn’t be apologetic for that. Forever slips away sometimes, but never be sorry for falling in love.”

This upbeat, bouncy song is about being truly grateful for the time spent together. Even though there’s heartache at the end, that doesn’t mean the relationship wasn’t worth it.

“‘[This song]’ is about that unfortunate realization when sometimes you’re in a relationship that just wasn’t what you thought it was and also wasn’t what it used to be.”

“It can be hard, sad, and frustrating, but [it’s] also important to remember that you loved that person and shouldn’t be apologetic for loving them. Maybe it didn’t work out, but like the song says, you cannot be sorry for falling in love with that person. Remembering those details, and the good parts that made the relationship unique and special, is what keeps it alive in some way, forever in your heart.”

Next up, plenty of artists have taken to shooting their music videos at home during Covid-19, but for this artist, the unfortunate circumstances of the pandemic have presented a unique opportunity to flex.

In her new music video, she shows off her impressive farm outside of Nashville and her impressively ripped husband. Her horse Gibson and one of her rescue dogs, Delta Dawn, also make appearances. She was quoted as saying:

“My mom always told me I was a wild child and a homing pigeon. [This song] really tells that story. And it’s not just my story. It’s all of our stories.”

Next up is a new solo song by this artist from a favorite group, spreading encouragement during the coronavirus pandemic with the release of this new single. He was quoted as saying:

“It’s a song I wrote in 2011 and I’ve always cherished it. My friend Emanuel Kiriakou, a very successful producer, and I came up with it together. The song has a lot of hope in it.”

“It’s about getting up and showing up, even when times are tough. The protagonist in this song is someone who’s been there before, with ups and downs, but still wants to swing for the fences, get out that bat and go for it.”

“That rings especially true in uncertain times. Everything feels bigger and heavier nowadays with the pandemic, but we have to keep living. Some days, you don’t want to get out of bed. Then some days, you get inspired, hear a song, read something, see something or you’re struck by something beautiful. The song is really about taking that shot and continuing to show up for yourself and others.”

Next up, while this artist is best known for playing Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he occasionally likes to drop some music. In fact, this will mark the Marvel star’s second music announcement of the year as he also released an entire album back in March. He was quoted as saying:

“I’ve always found music to be one of the few things that unite people in a pure way. Common ground can be hard to find in today’s world, but music has remained a constant for me. To feel deeply, to dance fervently, and live together is more present now than ever.”
