Wait… It’s October already? Man, I’m working way too much, because the days and weeks and months are flying by, but I’m neglecting my blog, and I haven’t started getting out the fall decorations yet, which I usually have done by now, and I have so much I need to do, but no time to do it. And obviously the side effect is run-on sentences. I’m so tirrrreeeedddd.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m really not complaining – I am thankful to be working steadily (though I really should think about blocking off my calendar for some play time, right?) and some people can’t say that. So I’m definitely counting my blessings for sure.

We’re still trying to find a balance with Little Dude’s remote learning – we heard a rumor that by sometime next month they’ll be bringing the kids back to in person learning while following safety protocols. He really does need to have that assistance – he barely passed the IEP (meaning, they denied him, because he was barely above the line of where they approve or deny, he just made it for the denial).

He’s falling behind in his schoolwork, because he can’t be watched 100% of the time (nor would we know, if we did watch him 100% of the time, if he’s actually doing an assignment or just dinking around, because one of his classes is robotics, so one of the assignments is to create a digital game, so could be why he’s playing games more than he’s doing math, english, and reading).

The hubby sent off a very eloquently written email to the principal and the teachers, asking that they revisit/reevaluate him in order for him to get the help he actually needs, that we cannot provide. I’ll keep you posted.

We need some levity before I fall asleep at my keyboard (heh!) so let’s move on to the funnies – this cracked me up:

This is funny (if not groan-worthy):

I absolutely love this:

  1. Great funnies! Remote learning does not work for all students. I really feel bad for the kids who need extra help. Luckily, your little man has you, but some of my previous students had no one at home to help. So, not being in school was a vacation for them. It’s sad.

  2. Stacy,

I hope Little Dude gets the assistance needed for his schoolwork. It is hard to stay on top of child’s studies. I can’t wait for this pandemic to be over but I’m confident that this virus is going to be with us forever just like anything else. I believe it’ll continue to loss strength as people develop antibodies naturally to it. Great set of giggles. Have a funtastic day, dearie!

  3. The window to choose your learning option for the 2nd nine weeks opened here and a whopping 1400 students in our county will be choosing to reenter the classroom. I don’t want to say “Digital Academy” didn’t work but I think parents recognize the amount of help that is provided in the classroom in the actual physical hands on approach. My kids went back to brick and mortar when school began and I feel like they too suffered a little because teachers were so torn between in-person kids and the digital ones. So the whole thing is a cluster, tbh.

  4. Erma Bombeck described that shopping cart as the one with three wheels that wanted to go shopping and one that wanted to head to the parking lot.

Loved the funnies, and i do hope your Dude gets all the help he needs with school.

  5. That is crazy about the IEP, did you request an appeal. At the very least, he should have a 504 plan.

Nice memes. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

  6. “I have so much I need to do, but no time to do it.” This really related to me as I feel irregular doing something for myself. Travelling is my passion but reading is mandatory for the future of life. isn’t it?
