We had some excellent rainy days last week, so now the smoke in our area from the wildfires is finally gone. This week we get to enjoy beautiful sunshine and perfect temperatures (and hopefully I didn’t just invoke Murphy’s Law, as I tend to do when I utter words like that…heh!)

Of course now even more fires have cropped up in California – I have friends in that area, and hope they stay safe while the wine country is sadly burning. Apparently we’re being warned that the smoke from those fires will make their way into our area today or tomorrow – hopefully not as bad as before, when we ended up with 10 days of ‘hazardous air’.

The fires in multiple states this year is scary – I’m definitely not a fan of fire, except in a fireplace or campfire with s’mores.

Rumor has it that our local school district is looking at possibly doing ‘in person’ learning in the next month or so – I, for one, will be relieved. I’m sure the hubby will be as well, since he does the majority of the monitoring, and is getting frustrated that Little Dude doesn’t seem to understand he has to click on his online classroom to get the link for that day’s virtual class.

He tends to click on the day before’s link instead, no one is in that virtual room (of course), so he gives up and starts playing an online game instead. While that’s understandable the first time (well, except the game playing part – he knows he’s not supposed to play any games until all his assignments are done, and currently he’s way behind) multiple times isn’t cool. It’s possible he’s doing it on purpose to have an ‘excuse’ to play a game instead of going to class. Sorry, Dude, not gonna fly.

Time now to move on to the funnies… this cracked me up – someone took their cat to the vet to check for pregnancy, and these pictures are priceless:

This is such a cool cake, I’d hate to have to cut into it:

  1. It took me a while to figure out that seal picture! LOL Some of our districts here in Texas are back to in-person learning. I think cases may shoot up some, but people are trying to take precautions.

  2. When we moved our homeschooling lessons to computers in those early days the kids’ computers weren’t connected to the Internet, mostly because we didn’t have WiFi. Boy, am I glad, too! It was challenging enough to keep our son on track. For the most part, he hurried through his studies so he could do what he wanted online and that was fine by me. Little Dude probably is clicking the wrong link on purpose hoping you won’t catch on. Kids have no clue just how smart parents are! lol The second ‘Foul Language’ comic had me smiling and thinking yep, it sure will! I had to laugh at the picture of the seal. It’s all about the angle. Thanks for the giggles today, my dear! I’m playing catch up. Next, I’ll boogie with your 4M picks! 😉

  3. Wonderful funnies, and as for Little Dude, they try to see what they can get away with.

Hope you have a blessed and beautiful week!

  4. I’m happy to hear you got a respite from the smoke but it’s so tragic what is happening all over the West Coast. We are spiking where I live and yesterday, the positivity rate for our county reached 5.1%. (We have at least one zip code in our county testing positive over 10%.) The state threshold for a county sending all the kiddos back to remote learning is 5.0% so I have this feeling there’s going to be an announcement soon….New York State’s honeymoon is over.
