Oh lordy, I’m sorry – I woke up this morning and realized I never wrote my RTT post yesterday! Normally I have my post all written and scheduled for 8pm liftoff on Monday evening – but life obviously got in the way, so better late than never, right? I mean, it is Tuesday, so… 😉

But because of the Blonde Moment, I’m going to keep it simple – how about some puppy love?

We were originally going to go with the name a very good friend of ours had suggested, Maximilian Montgomery, and we actually settled on that name, but then after we had him for a couple of days, we knew we needed a slightly different ‘take’. I mean, he was always going to be Max, but the full name was inspired by his bumbling around the house as he got his footing…

Meet Maxwell Smart (aka Max, Maxi, Maxwell Smartypants, etc.):

Born on 4/20/20, Max is a Labradoodle. I took this picture after we got home on June 16th – I realized that a black dog is really hard to photograph when it’s dark outside, and especially with my office being in the basement. But isn’t he a cutie?

This one I took outside the next day when he started to not be as scared of his new surroundings (but he also wouldn’t sit still for a picture):

Pay no attention to the deck boards, we’re replacing them this summer. Max was still a little wobbly on his feet – kinda like a toddler that just learned to walk.

Two days later, he was getting around like a champ:

He’s managed to get all around the house without issue (having hardwood floors was throwing him off, I think, as he was slippin’ and slidin’…heh!) though it’s going to be a while before he’ll be able to navigate the stairs, so I carry him up and down. I guess I better enjoy these moments, there will come a time when he’ll be way too big to carry, just like the kids!

Reddington took about two days to warm up to him, but now they’re fast friends, playing with each other (and wearing each other out) every day. I finally had a chance to take a picture of Max yesterday when he wasn’t running around chasing his brother:

I’ll try to get better pictures of him as the days go by – especially since he’s already grown in the week we’ve had him. Plus, I’ll need to take pics of him with Reddington, too – the comparison will be hilarious when Max gets way bigger than him.

Three of the five cats have made friends with him, the other two watch warily from a distance and slink away if he gets too close. I’ll be sure to get pics of them all together at some point, too.

You know what? Let’s make time for some funnies – this cracked me up:
