Hello? *tap tap tap* Is this thing on? Oh hello there – sorry I’m so very late. Usually this post has already been up for an hour by now (more than two hours by the time I finally hit ‘publish’). How are you all holding up during this pandemic? Staying safe and healthy? Keeping that social distancing going?

Earlier this evening (Monday), our Washington State Governor has mandated a 2-week ‘Stay At Home’ executive order (which isn’t a lock-down – yet – but does mandate that ‘non-essential’ businesses close and remain closed, so their employees can stay home and hide out from the virus. Also, so they won’t pass it on to anyone else, should they be oblivious carriers). Basically everyone state-wide is ordered to stay home.

We’ve been pretty good about just staying home already – I did venture out on Sunday afternoon to do part of the semi-monthly grocery shopping, because we were out of some essentials, and I lucked out and was able to snag a pick-up time for Walmart’s Grocery Pick-up. I will have to venture out on Wednesday, my ‘normal’ grocery shopping date to pick up the rest from the other stores I like to shop at.

I have to say, I was pretty impressed with Walmart’s pick-up (even more so than normal) because it appears the reason the pick up times are scarce is because it seems they’re only allowing half the usual number of people to pick up during the hour-long pick up window. So instead of having a car in every single one of the 9 or 10 special pick up parking spaces, there were only half – and everyone parked with an empty space in between to keep that social distancing happen.

And the super nice dude who came to bring out my groceries stood 6 feet away from my car to verify it was me, then loaded up the back of my car chatter-boxing the entire time. Usually I help load my car (because I transfer the groceries into my reusable bags (that I wash regularly, I might add) especially the cold stuff into cold bags so they’ll stay cold all the way home) but this time I remained in my car until he was done, then after he left I donned my surgical gloves and reorganized the groceries so they’d make the trip home without tumbling about in the back of my car, and be easier to carry in.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be so happy when life gets back to ‘normal’ again.

Let’s bring some levity and dive into the funnies, shall we? During quarantine, this is funny:

  1. We’ve been advised to restrict our movements for a while now, it’s becoming the usual. A sense of humor is certainly needed, as is perspective. This is going to be a huge fight that we have to win.

Thank you so much for the funnies and the opportunity to share them!

  2. The cartoons were a riot this week! The first one mde me laugh so hard Mary had to come and see what I was laughing at (she liked it, too). Our one remaining cat loves us being home so much, because she can sit in Mary’s lap all day.
