I still can’t believe I totally forgot to write my Random Tuesday last week until late on Wednesday. I’m running late this week as well, but this time it will be up on Tuesday, so that’s a plus. I’m behind on everything this year, apparently – I have the boxes of fall decor stacked and ready to get busy, but haven’t had the time to get it done. Hopefully later this week – I found a place that has amazing corn stalks for sale, so we’ll be in business!

The weather has certainly turned fall-like around here – though we’re still going to get some warmer weather later this week (60s), but a couple nights this week we’ll actually dip below freezing. The leaves are changing quickly – here are a couple of shots I took of our small town just a couple of weeks ago… this was just before dinner:

And of course I had to take an ‘after dinner’ shot because it was gorgeous:

I constantly marvel at the awesome view we have of our tiny town! Notice the tree line, how green it still is? This was from Friday night, just after the rain cleared out:

And this was just this past Sunday night:

I’ll keep taking progressive shots as I’m sure this week, with the colder weather, we’ll get even more glorious color to admire. Of course that’s if it doesn’t rain too hard and knock all the leaves off early before we get to see the color!

So we have a cat who chooses not to be in gen-pop – meaning, she prefers to maintain her kingdom in our master bedroom solo. She has her own food and water bowls, and her own litter box – we’ve tried to get her to come out into the main part of the house to hang out with her brother and sister, but she races back up the stairs like a shot and refuses to leave her glorious kingdom.

When we go up to visit her, and especially when it’s bedtime, she meows long drawn out insistent meows and demands attention and pets, which we happily give her. She’s comical, though, she won’t let us fall asleep without getting even more pets before doing so, batting at us until we comply with her demands.

She also demands attention from Reddington – she loves him big time. And people don’t think cats and dogs get along…

One of these days I’ll have to get a picture of her looking at the camera – she looks like she’s wearing white eyeliner, and her eyes are the most beautiful shade of greenish-bluish-greyish I’ve ever seen.

OK, enough with the fun, let’s get on with the funnies… Check out this cool owl:

The Harpy Eagle is one of the largest eagles in the world. Its talons are larger than a bear claw and its legs are as thick as a grown man’s wrist. Pretty wild, no?

This cracked me up:

This is funny:

This is also funny:

With all the Marie Kondo brouhaha at the beginning of the year, this is hilarious:

This cracked me up:

As a kid, we’d go to the library once a week, and I’d always check out at least 7 books (one for each day), so I love this:

And I’m just going to leave this right here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the , everyone is welcome.

  1. You do live in a beautiful place, i am so glad you are getting pictures as the trees change.

Your cat is wholly and totally herself, as they all are. Just when you think you can predict feline behavior, you get an exception, as they have to keep us on our toes.

Thanks for the funnies, i would have been the 9-year-old with the emergency books (now i’m the grown up with the To Be Read Pile that just about spills over.).

  2. Great pictures and the Marie Kondo is really pawsome. Those boxsprings are purrfect for the kitties…MOL😸Granny’s kitties were always together with her doggie, they really loved it each other and her doggie was watching after the kitties too. Heartwarming to see💗Pawkisses for a Wonderful Week ahead🐾😽💞
