September has arrived, and today is the first day of school for Little Dude.

This is the first year he’ll be riding the bus (last year we shuttled him to school until after the winter months, where he then walked himself to and from school. The middle school is too far away for walking, so he’s looking forward to his first experience on the school bus).

His hair grew like crazy over the summer months (as did he), so it was necessary to get it cut:

I love our barber shop in our tiny town – they are always so nice and do such a great job:

Rockin’ the flat top! Now he’s ready. Still haven’t been able to beef him up – even though his meals are large enough to feed three grown men, he’s still a skinny little dude. Even the medication he’s on for his ADHD, ODD, DMDD and Sleep Disturbances (all have a potential side effect of weight gain) hasn’t helped to beef him up. His pediatrician did a bunch of blood work and everything came back ‘normal’.

Of course his hyperactivity daily and throughout the night probably doesn’t allow him to gain any weight – part of his ‘Sleep Disturbances’ diagnosis is the fact that he’s lucky if he gets 2 hours of sleep each night. He’ll crash out and stay asleep for about 2 hours (if we’re lucky, sometimes 3), but then he’ll wake up and play the rest of the night until it’s time to get up. We’ve been trying to figure out how to help him with sleep since he came to live with us just before turning 4. He’s got all his doctors scratching their heads on that one! I sure wish I had that problem…heh!!

Princess Nagger doesn’t start school until tomorrow – since she’s a seasoned participant of the Virtual Academy, her first day is delayed by one day. The newbies have to show up today for the orientation of how to navigate the online school. Since her computer was acting up in a big way last year, causing issues for her to complete her assignments (hence a ton that ended up overdue and turned in late), and a new computer just isn’t in the budget, this year I decided to see if we’d qualify for her to get a laptop from the school.

We were denied, but then last week a laptop showed up from the school! So thankfully the frustration of a computer that keeps crashing won’t be a hindrance this year. That also means she’ll have no excuse not to get her assignments done on time… heh! We’re scrambling to get her school area set up – she’s been procrastinating cleaning her room alllll summer long, so it’s down to the wire, now. I’ll keep you posted!

Speaking of haircuts… this cracked me up:

This is funny:

Fellow coffee drinker or nerd?

I think I need to get these:

They’re actually pretty cheap on Amazon here. I’ll let you know if I get them.

This cracked me up:

This is clever:

This is funny:

This would freak the hubby out, since he’s afraid of horses (even though I keep telling him they’re like giant doggies):

This is groan worthy:

OK, I have to admit, I like this:

I could see Princess Nagger doing something like this:

And I’m just going to leave this right here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the , everyone is welcome.
